Ive been going to spicy bite for years because Ive found a few of their menu items to be my favourite in town and they have lots of veggie options. Ive also found the service to be above standard. I wish I had written a review in the past when Ive had positive experiences but unfortunately I didnt and now Im writing one in reaction to a mediocre experience. Ive always found their dishes to be very flavourful even if you ask for mild spicy-ness – there are still lots of complex flavours. I love hot food but my tummy doesnt. I ordered from there a month or two ago and it was great. Today though, it was like I walked into spicy bite but someone else is running it, not even just a different cook but different recipes altogether. I ordered the dal Mahkni and it was bland, overly creamy (and I love creamy so thats saying something – but it was all I could taste) with a bit of heat but just no flavour. Even the colour was different, pale. The picture didnt capture it well but its kindly of yellow and normally its more brown. The bindi masala was different than usual also. Like the okra was under cooked and in a think soup of bland tomato, and lacking the smoky flavour it usually has. Also the jeera rice was very brownish/yellow, soggy, and seems to have some sort of strange seasoning in it, when for years its been more of a plain rice with a bit of oil and lots of cumin flavour. Im giving a 4star rating to reflect my past experiences. But if I order again and see a pattern I might look at going to elsewhere. Spicy bite, please I hope this is temporary!

Went there one evening, was served under-cooked looking chicken. Figured what do I know, maybe it’s supposed to look like that. Nope. Was horribly sick a while after eating. Shit happens though. What I really can’t forgive is that the taste was mediocre. It is nicely decorated though.

Worst Indian food in Saskatoon by FAR!!Come on folksOnly reason I gave it a 1.0 because there wasn’t a lower rating.. go to spicy time on 8th and Acadia for freshness and variety.WOW.. I hope I don’t get sick from the food

Went there on the 15th with a buddy. Chose the buffet as it was a first time for eating there, wanted to have some variety. Which there was! Full flavoured food, friendly staff. Will be going back there FOR SURE!!! Interior was warm and cozy with low ceilings, even a small private room for your group to maintain the noise level. Thank you Spicy Bite!Would have been nice to have more than one piece of naan bread, as it wasn’t refilled during our visit.

I do really like this place. If I’m starving I will do the buffet. But I find when you order the food off the menu it’s much more fresh and flavourful. I love the naan bread, samosa and pakoras. I also really enjoy chicken malai tikka and also the dal makhni is so tasty. When ever I try something new I always really enjoy it. Prices can be on the high side but I do enjoy coming here.

me and my girlfriend went and both had butter chicken. one mild one medium. came out with absolutely no flavour. portions were small. used to go there all the time on 8’th street, definitely will never go there again and i advise you to not either. saskatoon needs a decent east indian restaurant.
