For a chain, this place has good food. Most recently I had the grille burger, which was delicious. I like that you get to choose two sides. Their booths are also comfortable.
This place is okay at best but nothing amazing among some of the great restaurants downtown. The first time I went here, it was for supper and we tried burgers and a couple other dishes among the table. The burgers were very disappointing and compared to a fast food frozen burger. The good thing about that evening was the drinks and service were quite good. The second time we went to try brunch on a Sunday and the place was empty ! Even though the place was empty the service was poor and it took a long time to get three breakfasts out. Once the breakfast came out we were very disapointed and the sausage was the by far the worst thing on the plate. It has the potential to be good but from my last two visits it was not enough to make me want to go back. Overall it is okay or good enough at best.
We love this restaurant. Great drinks and food. My daughter really enjoys the macaroni. Their breakfast is really good too. Convenient location if you’re going to Persephone theatre.
I like this place! It’s a pub, but not divey at all. The food is pretty decent, the servers are friendly, and they have a pretty good selection of alcohol. Food items I like include the Eggs Benedict, Pretzel Sticks, Blackened Chicken Burger, Butter Chicken, and my friend once got the chicken strips and fries, and they looked pretty amazing.I did, however, once get kicked out for forgetting my ID when I was 23. Not a big deal and totally understandable, but just in case you’re looking for a pub to go to on a day you forget ID, this may not be your best bet.
Stopped in here on a Tuesday night for a late night snack. We were seated by Carley. She was very friendly and super helpful with the menu not to mention a great server by buying our first round just because it was our first visit to State & Main! We ordered three appys as we were just in for a few drinks and finger foods. We ordered wings, Brushetta and Calimari. All three appys were done to perfection! I look forward to returning to sample the full menu!
Food & service awesome. TURN DOWN the music. Loved bison burger. Very accommodating to gluten issues. Beautiful looking bar. Nice setting. Low lights, good seating plan.Only thing i can complain about is the level of sound on the music. Too loud, cant visit. Doesn’t matter if you go at noon, or in the evening, you cannot enjoy the conversation as you’re screaming over the music. Wont be back because of that reason only.
Came here a few weeks ago and received excellent service and food. Had the bison burger with poutine and Caesar salad. It was delicious! Would love to go back!
