Let me mention, I go for lunch and dinner at off hours because I have a flexible work schedule. If that wasnt the case, being elbow to elbow with a stranger during my meal would be extremely disconcerting to this introvert. Having said that, Ive tried a couple of the ramen bowls, three different sushi dishes and two types of steamed buns in the last couple months. All were really good – served at the appropriate temperature, as described in the menu and had enjoyable flavours. From a customer service perspective, I was particularly impressed when they let me split a ramen bowl with my daughter without an additional charge. This establishment is a place to see and be seen – no question, its a positive addition to the Saskatoon restaurant experience. The price is steep for certain items, but the cost is reflected in the quality of the food. If I want cheap sushi, I get out the rolling mat and put up a pot of rice. If I want to have a dining experience, Sticks and Stones will be a place I consider. Kudos to the servers. Theyve always been great – attentive without being intrusive.

Great decor. Really friendly service. Food was delicious. Drinks tasty. The only criticism was the music choice (rap/gangster style music just didnt suit the place); dessert plating needs rethinking – (cheesecake served in a black, high sided bowl wasnt quite right… ). With that said , we would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back.

Amazing food and great service. The atmosphere was slight party but still able to have good conversation. And the drink menu is insanely good!

This is another interesting and strong restaurant that is part of the Aydens, Little Grouse on the Prairie and Sticks and Stones trio of fabulous restaurants: Saskatoon is lucky to have them. The cocktails and the steamed buns were outstanding. Much of the sushi (e.g., the OC and the pressed sushi) was also outstanding although not all rolls were as good as those two. The burger was messy to eat and was OK and their noodle entre was Ok as well. All dishes were innovative and interesting. In all, an excellent addition to the Saskatoon dining scene

Animal style ramen. Amazing. Not on the menu, I think you have to ask for it. It was recommended to me by the bartender. It was expensive but soooo worth it. Like going on a flavour treasure hunt. We sat at the bar – great place to watch the action – and shot the shit with the bartenders, who were super friendly and hilarious. Loved the atmosphere and decor, and the bass-heavy hip hop playlist was super rad. I love this place, cant wait to go back and order some sushi.

It’s a small place to eat and not very much room for people to move around. It felt like I was eating with strangers next to me. I’d say that the food is good, but I’m craving more as the portions are small but the price is big. I’m definitely not going here anymore because it’s not worth it. My advice is to focus on customer comfort and value for what they are paying. I left hungry and I should not have to buy more to do so.

The spice-sea, yxe sushi rolls, and sashimi plate were some of the best sushi Ive had in town. My friend also had a cocktail with a grapefruit flavour that I would get next time but I cant remember what it was called. I had the smoke and a pancake cocktail/highball and it was very good, but intense and I sipped at it all night. My friends had the fried chicken, both flavours, and said the spicy one is wayyy better. very very trendy place, which is not my thing but the food was great.
