Came here on Friday with two friends to have supper. The service was pretty slow right from the start. We wanted to order an appetizer, but couldn’t decide which one would feed all three of us. We asked the waitress and she recommended the half order of nachos. She exaggerated the portion size and we were disappointed when it came to our table looking like it was less than half the size she described it as. The other thing that made me upset was the fact that the waitress didn’t tell me that they would be adding an additional $2.50 on to my bill for the gravy I ordered. For an 1/8 of a cup of gravy they charged me $2.50, yet you can get a poutine upgrade for $2.00? The last thing we noticed while eating here was that the manager/supervisor was walking around asking everyone how their food was. He walked right past our table and never said a word to us. I can’t help but feel it was because we were all under 25 and he didn’t care about our opinions. All in all probably won’t be returning to this restaurant for food, the portions are small and the service is slow.

I personally found the service satisfying and the food good, nothing special, but the venue is pretty small. You can either feel suffocated or cozy. There is not really a private sitting area which sucks. But has a great fun vibe overall.

Planned to go on a Friday night but ended up going on a Monday night instead. Not really impressed with the service. I had fish street tacos and my sister had a burger. Both were excellent. Service was quite lousy given that it was a Monday and there happened to be 4-5 servers and a hostess and only about 5 customers. Couples and guys on business trips sitting at the bar. The waitresses seemed more inclined to flirt and talk with the bartender and the cook staff then to actually do their jobs. Could only imagine what a Friday night would have been like. Might go back just to try out some more of the menu but definitely not for the service.

Brunch/ breakfast Not recommended at Brown’s. Brown’s is the place to go for lunch or dinner, but please save yourself from disappointment from the brunch menu! We ordered most items on the brunch menu- the compote waffles (the waffles tasted like the pre-made belgian waffles you can buy from Costco-dry and sugary), the big burrito (lacked authentic flavour), the corned beef hash (too sweet), steak and eggs (steak was tough), and the almost famous fried egg sandwich (similar to a bacon and egger mcmuffin) (there was a group of us-and we all were disappointed) Usually when every dish is half eaten- it’s an indication that the dishes were not good. On a positive note, Brown’s has great salads- so Regina, go eat there after 11:30am but definitely not for Brunch!

April 2014 Visit. I am impressed when a place does a good fish burger. Too often, they are a menu afterthought. Brown’s blackened fish burger will definitely earn a return visit from me. The restaurant has a very nice interior and some tables in a sun room. The only down side is that the prices are steep.

Inexpensive house alcohol rocks! I don’t like chains but these guys are consistent at being good and efficient.

Had a great time there the other night, 2nd time I have been and haven’t been disappointed… It will now be a regular go to for me.. The music playlist makes it hard to leave, the social drinks for $4 are great and food is good to.
