Went here a few months ago and ordered Chicken Caesar Salad. Pretty expensive for the lettuce and meat that you get. Our waitress was ok. Nothing about this place makes me want to return anytime soon.
The food was just ok. We were the only people on the dining room side and seemed to take some time to get our food. The floors were dirty and yet the man in charge seemed to be more interested in the football game.
Ok..so some friends and I go in on a wing night..which is Sunday and /or Monday.. They are charging by the wing..35/cent’s.. We noticed on all of our plates only 9 wing’s. We then asked why only 9? They said its by the pound..OK..so get the the bill..charged $3.50 like we got 10..think bout the wide view here..when they do that to 700-1000 patrons…consumer protection branch notified. Have a great day.Update!Went back here on a Sunday, my friend orders the brisket slider’s (3 mini bun’s) and every single bun was just plain fat..showed the bartender (who is probably the best one there hands down) he said that’s worst thing he’s seen..said the kid that cut’s it messed up. He got them taken off the bill. Imagine, taking a bite outta this bun and just one big piece of fat flubber…and hire some bartender’s who don’t look like they just woke up outta the basement coffin…I need my blood ..thanks.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food!. As a Culinary Trained Arts Professional Chef, I enjoy my experiences when I travel and try different Restaurants. As I frequent Regina regularly from Ontario, Rock Creek Tap and Grill has become a go to place for dining out. I find the food to be well prepared, eye pleasing, tasty and served with great service. Out of my visits, my last one did come with an observation, although small, could be rectified easily. One dish ordered was the Grilled Caesar Salad. Previously the plating of the salad was such that the multiple leafs of Romaine Hearts were placed neatly stacked together on the plate where the Romaine could be easily cut with a knife and fork. The presentation was neat, uniform, and eye inviting to the ensuing chow down. This night the salad came in a tossed salad like display with the hearts laid across resulting in a very messy display. To the trained eye, the artistic display was disruptive and unappealing visually. Hopefully the salad will be returned ti it’s previous visual style for presentation. A small point since the salad was still very tasty, but as Culinary professionals, we all have to remember that as part of his/her culinary experience, the customer at first presentation will always judge the food with their eyes…. 12 Oz Ribeye. I cut into the steak to make sure it was raw as charcoal on the edges, ditto stuffed potato, skin was black, carrots old and wrinkled and tough as was the steak, 9 oz edible
Bottom line: disappointed. First don’t order anything blackened. Their idea of blackened is burned! I tried the blackened chicken. The pasta was good but the chicken was dry, tough, and burned. The manager offered a free dessert to make up for the poor food which was alright I guess. Could not get a refill on the coffee to save my life. The waiter took our order and brought out the food then forgot about us. My dining dollars will be spent somewhere else.
