It was way too hot to cook last Sunday so my wife and I decided to ride our bikes to Rock Creek East. I must say that I have had a couple negative experiences at the North location so my expectations were really low. Even though it was hot we decided to sit outside. The deck is quite nice with a view of the retaining pond. Also, it is in the back of the building so there is no traffic noise from Quance street. We chose to share a pitcher of Sangria. There were a few different options on the drink menu which led us to believe it would be something that they do a good job with. We were correct. The pineapple version was really tasty and not too sweet. For dinner I decided on one of their summer specials… Shrimp and Chicken Bang Bang. I have had shrimp bang bang a few times in the UK. It is pretty standard pub food over there. This one at Rock Creek was one of the best I have ever had. The heat level was just right, the chicken skewers juicy, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were tender crisp. I was actually in disbelief. My wife had the steak and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly medium but the fries were a bit soggy. I must say that the east location is much better than the north. I am sure we will be back on a fairly regular basis since it is within bicycling distance of our condo.
