Our first visit to the Beautiful Skye cafe.It is clean, fresh and inspiring . The food was fresh and tasty, beautifully presented, featuring healthy local producers and farmers.Service was friendly and prompt. food is priced very reasonable and quality is second to non.Highly recommended this place and we hope to make this our favorite place to dine when we are in the city.

The problem with this place is that it does not open for dinner. There is also an issue with their lunch dishes: the meat/protein portion (of what I ordered) is very small relative to a large amount of greens (average greens) it comes with. Their Scotch egg, for example, was delicious but it wasnt enough food and the massive amount of greens it came with did not help. Same problem with the crab cake as well as with the lamb sliders. They have potential. They need to open for dinner, improve the proportion of protein to greens, and they need to make the greens more interesting (the light sprinkling of feta did not cut it for me)

What a wonderful restaurant. We had a delicious brunch. The food was fresh, flavourful & beautifully presented. The coffees were great, as was the attentive, friendly service. It was a really pleasant dining experience, very fairly priced.

So close to being a great experience…. My wife and I decided to stop into the Skye Cafe for brunch during our morning bike ride today. It is about half way around our usual loop through Wascana Park. We chose to take advantage of the great weather and sit outside. The patio is rather nice. The tables are shaded with a view of their vegetable garden. My only complaint about the outdoor seating is that it is too close to the Science Center playground. The screaming children can be a bit annoying. For drinks, my wife decided on a mimosa while I had a Caesar. Both were very tasty. There are many appetizing options on the menu which made it difficult to choose what to order for breakfast. After much deliberation, I settled on the crab cake benny and my wife had standard bacon and eggs. My wife’s breakfast was pretty much perfect. The eggs were nicely over easy, the thick cut multigrain toast perfect with loads of crispy bacon on the side. My bennys were a bit disappointing. The idea is great but the execution and plating needs some work. I don’t think the eggs were drained properly after poaching. When they were placed on the crab cakes the excess water just soaked into the coating which made them really soggy. Also, the side salad vinaigrette seeped into the crab cakes from below and made the situation worse. Each component individually was rather good. They just need to figure out how to keep the crab cakes crispy. There was a bit of an issue when we were ready to pay and leave. The server brought the bill but didn’t come back to see if we needed change. We ended up going in and dealing with what seemed to be a trainee. She didn’t know what she was doing with the POS system but eventually got it figured out. After all this being said, we will definitely give the Skye Bistro another try. I think I just ordered something that they don’t have completely figured out and the service issue was minor. Next time I will try the chicken and waffles…..

Out of the way, but never out of mind! It is nice to see this location reopen with a European twist. The staff is friendly and the menu has a broad spectrum of options. Breakfast was delicious, coffee was perfect. The owner stopped by to get some feedback … The decor is bright with accent colours brought out throughout the restaurant. Definitely earned its place on my list of favourites!
