Evening Breakfast – Enjoyable. As of April 27, 2015, I went with a friend for some evening breakfast. The waiter and waitress on duty were friendly and enjoyable. They were prompt with seating, and were great at service. Food arrived very quickly, and was hot.Important to note, this is my first and only encounter here, so I may have just gotten lucky with the best tag team ever.
Steak? Take a chainsaw and propane torch.. Worst steak sand which I’ve ever had. Tough old cow, slathered in cold BBQ sauce right out of the fridge. A glass of red wine with that, couldn’t drink it, and the waitress seemed …well, otherwise engaged.Not many meals in a restaurant I remember as distasteful as this one. Stay home and have a bowl of soup, rather than the misery this joint dishes out…
Went today with a group for a snack and coffee, I arrived 20 min after my friends, who had yet to be served, only to wait another 20 min with nobody offering to help us. We ended up not eating at all we were very disappointed with the lack of service. I have always been a smittys fan, however next time I’ll try a location that appreciates business.
Disgusting – as usual!. We were waiting to pick a car up and Smitty’s was close. We would have been better to go to McDonalds. Way better! The restaurant itself was cold. The food was stone cold – I am pretty sure they cook loads of bacon, hash browns and even toast the day before, and then at maybe 7.30 am they stick the leftovers under heat lamps and because we were there at 7.45 – they weren’t hot yet. Everything apart from the eggs was soggy and cold. To make matters worse, there was no toilet paper in the washroom. I went out and tore off some paper towel and put it in the cubicle. I didn’t bother to complain. It would not make any difference. Smitty’s is old fashioned and boring. I think the only people they can get to work there are people who can’t get a job anywhere else, or retirees who just want to get out of the house. Today was exceptionally bad – but it’s always bad and hopefully I will never set foot in any Smitty’s again.The waitress was fine.05 Oct, 2011Cheap breakfast.. The food is not great but its cheap. Breakfast is the best meal of the day – you can also have it all day too! The scrambled eggs look to me like chopped up overcooked omelette but over easy etc are just fine. I have had the waffles and I thought they were perfectly ok. The service at the Albert North restaurant is WAY better than at Normanview. The waitresses are more mature here and the service is good.
After waiting 30 minutes for our breakfast, my boyfriend’s French toast and eggs were cold. My poached eggs were fully cooked through and pancakes were hard on the top. Definitely not coming back.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!. I’ve regretfully been to this Smitty’s location a few times. On one occasion it took the waitress 20 minutes to take our drink order, the food each time wasn’t so great and on one occasion my husband and I walked in and there was NO ONE in sight! We waited probably 10 minutes for someone to come out from hiding and seat us, we tried talking, coughing, etc to get someone’s attention to come out and no one came! After 10 minutes we decided to leave and went to Smitty’s in Normanview which was further away for us, but worth the drive. I don’t like terrible service and wouldn’t go back to this location again.
Overall the breakfast was bad. My waffles were stale (like a rock), the server was MIA, and I felt like I hit rock bottom.
