Love this location, perfect for people watching. Close to riversdale, the river, and downtown. The service was amazing (Priscilla was our server). She was very accommodating. Love their selection of margaritas. A good menu for tapas/ small plates and sharing. Churros were the best I’ve had in Saskatoon. A must try!
Come for the tacos, stay for the churros! The food is fresh, the people are friendly, and the drinks are delish! Can we also take a moment to appreciate this GORGEOUS space?!
I have been here twice and the food has been exceptional and the service was awesome. Great flavours, fresh tortillas, the chorizo platter is super good. It is expensive though, but the ingredients are mostly locally sourced. Id come here more often, if it werent for the hefty price.
To start off, the ambience, bar staff and wait staff were all on point. The disappointment came with the food. I booked our table for 4 at least 3 weeks in advance since we all live out of town. We settled in, ordered cocktails, and looked forward to ordering. (we all looked at the menu, and knew what wanted) We tried to order the ahi tuna tostadas, but were told they were out (2 out of the 4 us tried) so we were okay with ordering the scallop cerviche and the pork belly for starters. The server came back to say that the cerviche was also now sold out, would we like to order something else? Okay… how about the shishito? We really wanted fish/seafood/veg, not beef and pork. Nope. Sorry. Sold out. Our reservation was for the typical dinner service hour of 6:30, and 3 of the 10 starters are sold out already? I understand and applaud the use of local food sources, but scallops, ahi tuna would hardly be sourced from local proprietors. The server did give us coupons to come back and have 2 of our choices comped for our next visit, which I do appreciate, but really would have preferred to have been able to order them that night. The food (what we did get) was good. The #roguetaco that night was beef tongue and it was amazing! Such tender cut of meat and the seasonings made it an great choice. The shrimp tacos; meh. The burger looked good, and my husband enjoyed his pork taco. Kind of disappointed to be honest. The bill was high and we all left feeling a little cheated. Hopefully they can get better at stocking their features. Don’t think we’ll make the effort again though.#wheresthetuna.
A group of us went on a Friday evening. When we got there the waitress asked if we would like to get started with chips and salsa. We agreed while we waited for a few more people to come. We were not told the chips and salsa was going to be an extra charge. It wasnt much but it would have been nice to know. I shared the beef and chicken taco with a friend. Nothing special about the chicken taco. The beef taco was amazing!! This was the only thing I enjoyed from the menu. I also tried some of their rice and beans + kale dish. My group agreed this was the worst rice and beans dish we have ever had. The waitress said she likes bacon on hers and asked us if we would like to try with bacon on. Again, not told this was an extra charge. It was $6 more for a little bit of bacon!! Crazy! Everything is OVER priced here! As for the drinks, they were mediocre. We will not be returning.
Atmosphere is trendy, definitely trying to be a destination spot. Service was good. I started with the horchata with rum. Very good, but expensive ($14). For food we started with the pork belly, which was tasty. I had the shrimp tacos as my main, which were good, but didnt blow me away. My partner had the flank steak, which was super good, as were its accompaniments. For dessert I had the flan, which I liked. Tried the churros, which were very good and the best value. The waitress also brought out the chocolate tacos, which firstly, we didnt order (we didnt speak up either, which is on us), and secondly the least impressive portion of the meal, do not recommend the chocotacos.
Went with a friend when it reopened in the smaller space. Our server was very nice, and I really enjoyed the pain killer drink. The decor is somewhat trendy but not over the top. I had the jackfruit tacos and a kale salad. Those were meh… I think Ill go back and order something else next time though.
