It was actually pretty good. The food came in large portions, and was great for where we were. I had the pollo del horno with rice, a soup and salad. The service was so so, as the waiter kept forgetting what we ordered. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for being located next to the highway. For what we got food wise and location compared to the price (we each paid 2.500) I would say this was a pretty great spot; and should I ever find myself up there again during lunch I would definitely go there.
Di Olatte’s has extremely economical and complete colaciones, the perfect spot for a hearty chilean casera meal on a cold day. I ordered the cazuela de ave which was complete with salad and drink. The portion size was huge and the chicken was juicy, not overcooked at all. All the waiters and the owner are extremely friendly, probably one of the most pleasant I’ve encountered so far in Chile in terms of service. The waiter checked in on us often and was always with a smile. The only slight complaint I had is we sat in the outdoor terrasse and ended up sharing our meal with a couple of hungry stray dogs (which was probably our fault for giving them food to begin with).
