About
Our concierge at Hilton provided these instructions for the cab. They led us down a deadened alley and we would have been concerned but our cab driver seemed honestly puzzled, arguing with police and asking random passersby for help.He finally dropped us off in front of a neon sign for Da Gui and we walked in. It looked empty of customers and bare of dcor - not at all the fancy place youd expect from a Hilton Concierge. The staff barely noticed us as they were engrossed in a TV show as we entered. As this point we had low expectations to say the least. We have had excellent luck making leaps of faith so we continued based on the concierges recommendation. It was one of the most surprisingly delicious meals weve had in memory. We enjoyed a dry pot with spices and chicken, a dish of thinly sliced, sauted eggplant, some fried greens and a cucumber salad. The staff checked in on us from time to time but we were too busy eating to speak. As I just stumbled on the instructions, I thought of the folks who hosted us during our visit and wonder if you can make use of the recommendation sometime when youre looking for something a little off the beaten path. OK, OK, I did manage to locate a review but I still choose to believe this a hidden gem.
