A fast sailing ship - a tea clipper - was loaded in the bund and sailed out to deliver the first tea to London faster than any other ships for its honor - an unofficial race called 'Tea Race'. The historical building the British trading company left in Shanghai as it made an advance into the city is now the Bund Tea Company's Tea Salon.
