On the 13th of September, Chef Francesc Fernndez, also known as Franki, opens a new restaurant with a Mediterranean flavor, whose goal is to become a gastronomical landmark in the city. SAMFAINA will open its doors in 532 Fuxing Zhong Lu (near Ruijin lu), where one can enjoy a very different view of Shanghai. Far away from the tourist route, and from busy shops and restaurants, SAMFAINA is located in the former French concession, a part of the city steeped in history.Franki is a well known Spanish Chef who studied at the prestigious Escola de Restauraci y Hostelatge de Barcelona. Opening this restaurant in Shanghai is a dream come true for the Chef who has worked in different Spanish and French hotel organizations, catering companies and restaurants for more than ten years.He decided to leave Barcelona three years ago, to participate in new projects in Shanghai. These two cities may be thousands of miles apart, but both share a cosmopolitan point of view, a desire to enjoy themselves to the full, an openness of mind, and a passion for culture and art.With the skills he has developed, Franki now wishes to introduce us to a new and surprising gastronomical experience based on, in his own words, the quality of the products, the careful and delicate preparation of dishes, and the direct contact with the customer.Every detail has been taken into account to make SAMFAINA a unique ,welcoming and leading restaurant in Shanghai for its innovative, avant-garde international cuisine. In any one of its four different ambiances; restaurant, tartar counter, bar and terrace, the customer can enjoy not only delicately prepared and delicious dishes but also a carefully selected choice of cocktails, wines and drinks to suit each and every palate.The creators of this new project, SAMFAINA, propose an original multi-sensorial gastronomical experience where, for example, the customer, can enjoy at the table the preparation and finishing touches of many of the dishes ordered.
