Located in the heart of old Havana, Papa Ernesto is a purveyor of fine european dining from the esteemed Chef Miro Primula, who had restaurants on Ibiza and St.Tropez. Papa Ernesto opened in February 2017 and is located 15 m from Plaza Viecha, one of the busiest and oldest squares in old Havana on the longest San Ignacio street connecting Havana harbor with the old town. Papa Ernesto was designed by the award-winning architectural studio AT26. Emphasis is placed on simplicity, details and material, with the intention of easily contrasting with the surrounding environment. The design of the interior is based on a dialogue of the historical foundation with an uncompromising minimalist language, which is not only european and contemporary, but also cosmopolitan. The outdoor sitting offers the choice to observe passers-by and the cuban street life, or watch the art of cooking as it occurs in the open-kitchen. Food is always freshly prepared only from the best ingredients Cuba offers. Papa Ernesto works with small local suppliers and farmers to offer his customers always the highest quality of new Cuban cuisine at European standards.
