In the district of Christianshavn, just across Knippelsbro (i.e. one of the bridges leading across the Copenhagen Harbour) and down a few steps you locate Christian IV. This cosy lunch restaurant served Danish traditional "smrrebrd" (open-face sandwich) and tasteful homemade specialities served with solicitude and honesty. A must if you want to try out Danish Smrrebrd and a fine place to take the edge off your hunger after a stroll along the canal.Details

Was taken here while visiting friends who also happened to be in Copenhagen. They loved their meal there the previous day so much that they took us there. Lovely open sandwiches and a really great selection of dishes freshly made.
