Restaurant Vingaarden opened in the summer of 2019 with the desire to a selection of the best dishes from Italy into the historic heart of Copenhagen. The restaurant works with a simple and minimalist menu based on highest quality ingredients a philosophy that is good for both the stomach and the environment. The team behind Restaurant Vingaarden are the owners of Maven Restaurant & Wine Bar located across the street at the scenic Nikolaj Square. Together with Mavens former restaurant manager Kristian Jein they are a guarantee for great culinary experiences. The opening of Restaurant Vingaarden is also a tribute to more recent history as Vingaarden used to be a stronghold for Copenhagens jazz music in the 1960s. The name Vingaarden literally means winery and can be traced back to King Hans, who produced his wine in this exact location in the 16th century. Perhaps this is why nothing comes more naturally than enjoying a good glass of wine in this historic and beautiful setting.
