Of course a double espresso or a cafe Vienna might be more to your taste, but I have to say the chocolate used is locally cultivated and made with rich cream. Yum
This coffee shop has a nice outdoor sitting area. They have several options for coffee and desserts.
Small cafe behind the concepcion convent in Old Town. It has some nice tables outside, in front of an unfortunately grotesque mural. Wish they would put up one more appropriate to the spirit of Old Town and the convent.

If you’re an ice coffee lover, definitely stop by Cafe San Mateo! The staff was friendly and patient while I figured out my order and I was very pleased with the end result. Will definitely be going back!
Iced latte was fantastic! Definitely the best coffee I have had so far in my travels through South America. Staff are very friendly, speak excellent English and above all, know their coffee.
Stopped in for coffee and dessert. The coffee was nice and strong and the chocolate cake rich but not too sweet. Friendly staff. A great find for mid day or end of night snack
