Kaivohuone, designed by architect Carl Engel, was completed as a restaurant in 1838, and since then the venue has entertained the socialite of its time in central Helsinki. The restaurant building in the old spa is located in the vicinity of Kaivopuisto park, and its exceptionally beautiful location by the sea, in a lush green park provides a unique setting for your celebration. Kaivohuone was renovated in 2004 and its terrace in 2012, honouring its long history. In this manner, the restaurant was restored to its old glory with crystal chandeliers and art deco interior. The Kaivohuone terrace is open seven days a week during the summer. In addition, the legendary Kaivohuone summer nights are celebrated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Outside the summer season, the restaurant can be booked for private events as well as other occasions.
