About
In 1512 the Weisser Hase Inn opened in Passau - in the same premises which we occupy nowadays. As few people could read or write, it was common to use animals on signs - Weisser Hase means 'white hare'. Some of these animal names survived into the 21st century. Passau used to have a 'black hare' and a 'grey hare' but only the 'white hare' remains. Our restaurant Weisser Hase is characterised by its mix of regional and international cuisine. Dishes are freshly prepared by our chef and his team. The restaurant is open upon reservation only.
