Good food, the stuff you would expect, schnitzels, game stew etc. A selection of nice German beer and wine. A friendly waitress in dirndl, lot of wood and low ceilings. This place is very popular with tourists and locals. Reservation is a must.
Maybe the best schnitzel I ever have tasted. But difficult to communicate with the waitress who couldn’t talk English. The place was also very busy and the service was not that great.
I have enjoyed Altstaufner Einkehr for years and continue to visit every time I’m in Oberstaufen. Miche is a fantastic host who insures that each meal is of the highest quality. Dining there is a unique experience which can’t be duplicated.
