An uphill walk from the town center taking about 20 minutes but well worth the effort. Large beer garden with great beer and good views. I can imagine that it can get very busy. Falling conkers can cause a surprise (in late September)
I had visited this excellent establishment the previous week and drank fine beer and eaten excellent food in the beer garden. My second visit was equally marvellous, on this occasion I was seated inside and his marvellously restored 17th century gasthaus.

It was a part of our Bamberg brewery trip, This brewery is very far from the center if you go on foot from the railway station. The food was good and the beer was tasty.
So so experience. The local beer is great but the food is not remarkable and the service alright at best. The atmosphere is perhaps genuine but not really cosy. In total: OK but not more.
A good 15 mins walk rewards with superb views and less tourists in this lovely Biergarten!Food good quality and tasty, we offended the locals by having mustard on our pork!
