The BULLEREI in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel was once a cattle market and is visibly stunning. with stylish but comfortable grey couches, 200 year old oak tables and a blue tiled bar. The restaurant is popular with gourmets, the in-crowd and beer drinkers who wax-lyrical about it. The food tastes amazing and prices are reasonable. The meat is cooked to perfection and the side dishes are delicious. The lunch menu offers wonderful meals for vegetarians. The staff are stylish and fashionable. They are cool, friendly and stand out from the crowd in their grey aprons.Details

Welcoming to outsiders, this place was filled with Hamburgers enjoying their Sunday afternoon. The burgers were huge and fairly priced. Quite hard to find coming out of the U-Bahn station.
I went without reservation. Seated on a kind of large collective table. Good burger, tasty with good products. For desert a kind of homemade plum crumble, and nice local beers. So not only deserts.
Waited 10 minutes for a table for lunch on a Saturday, but then another 45 MINUTES for a plate of Bolognese. One young chef by himself preparing everything for a full restaurant.
We had 2 delicious meals to share! Exquisite fresh food, fish and beef, Mälzer-style as expected! What a stunning location with an awesome peaceful happy atmosphere! Anytime again !
Great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the nice drinks and food after exploring this nice neighbourhood. Directly located next to the train station, which makes it a great place to rest before continuing exploring a different neighbourhood in Hamburg!
