Have been here a number of times. It’s OK for brunch or for a beer, and the atmosphere is OK, but the food is often not up to standard. My feeling is it has gone down the hill over the years.
Safran is an institution. Expect students and their professors, a laid back crowd. There is always a great selection of Mittagstisch, most meals come under ten Euros. Great pizzas. We go there every week and have been doing so for 8 years.
