About
Greek transitional folklore tavern , very good quality of meat and excellent house wine. Since 1981 "Spanos" has been known throughout Athens for two dishes: chopsticks and snails. You can find them unchanged in quality and delicacy in the quietness of a district road in Patissia: the chops are delicate and delicious (the meat comes from Northwestern Greece) while the snails are dipped in a sweet red salad. Beyond that, there is an ewe lamb, a shortbread with lambs not to go dry, while Mrs. Georgia, keeping her recipes secret, makes terrible cheese-flavored, aromatic zucchini, cheese pies with a very rich filling and a leafy pie. The simple, bright courtyard with insulated flooring is ideal for relaxing, while the winter room is decorated with authentic folk art items. Tip At the weekends, ask for the agoriotic kokoretsi.
