About
Cavo D' Oro opened in 1988 and it is located at the old Venetian port of Rethymno, with view to the historical lighthouse. With many years of experience, Cavo D' oro offers a wide range of Seafood, Greek and Mediterranean flavors. As it is open all year round, it has both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Traditional products are combined with modern touches and create delicious dishes, such as prawns saganaki, sea bass stuffed with eggplant in a pesto sauce, squid gemisto, or grilled octopus. All dishes are prepared and cooked with pure Cretan products and the best olive oil found in Crete. There is a great selection of salads made from locally grown vegetables.Details

The team really took their time to explain and recommend the food and wine, they stayed attentive and friendly over the whole meal. The food was fresh and really tasty, everything seemed to have been done with care for detail and love.
We ( the New Zealanders) had a delicious lunch at Cava D’Oro – great ambience overlooking the old harbour. Lots of warm genuine attention from Peter and his staff. We would go back if we could.
Most of the other restaurants had people pestering passers-by. This one had good food and excellent service. We had the seafood/fish platter which was very good. They did a special desert with birthday candle and sang happy birthday. Very nice people.
In the Venetian harbour so quite a setting. Staff friendly if somewhat obsequious. Good menu range, linguine with salmon, seabream, salmon with ginger. Always a bit pricier by the harbour. No complaints but once was enough.
The food was delicious and the waitress was very nice!! 🙂 Amazing food, amazing place, amazing waitress! 🙂
