Cafe La Luna is a cafe and museum located in a late nineteenth century house, in which the citys first chocolate factory was founded on October 1 , 1900. Founded 20 years ago Cafe La Luna continues producing and serving hot chocolate with the same recipe brought to Quetzaltenango by Don Antonio Chavez Morfin and which was made famous by the notorious "senoritas Chavez". The owner Raul Izas Chavez turned the home of his grandparents into a time machine that takes us to the past and makes us relive the history of the region. From its numismatic collection to the Victrola in which "Luna de Xelaju" is often played Cafe La Luna is a unique place that both local and foreigners should visit.
