Had a typical Bengali thali meal here. The attraction here was shidol a dry fish chutney which is a delicacy in the north east. The thali consisted of rice, dal, a baingan fry, 2 veg curries. That’s the standard. The add on was rui (rohu) fish curry and shidol chutney.Homely food without much grease and grime. Good cheap restaurant. Big no on the decor but that’s not the main point. The local thali food is important here! I like eating here whenever I am in Guwahati!
Been here couple of times with increasing disappointment every time. On my last vist the manager made a huge mess of an argument over money. Never going to a shop who can’t treat a customer right.
This is a small eatery, which serves authentic Bengali cuisine at nominal prices. I recently visited this place with my uncle, who is a pure Bengali cuisine lover! As it was quite late and we both were hungry, we decided to give this place a try. The interiors are plain & simple. The sitting arrangement depicts the only idea – SIT & EAT. We ordered two RICE MEAL and two half plate Chicken Curry.RICE MEAL was a combination of RICE, DAL, CABBAGE CURRY, SALAD, EGGPLANT FRY, POTATO FRY, DRY FISH CHUTNEY and PAPADUM. One can ask for the refilling of each items of RICE MEAL again & again. CHICKEN CURRY was really nicely cooked in bengali manner – full of spices & chillies and huge chicken pieces! Overall taste – Great. At this decent price rates, the food was real value for money. So, in case you’re in REHABARI and planning to have some Bengali dishes, try out this place.PS: I was so hungry, I couldn’t managed to click the photos. I hope my review helps.*Cheers*
