For us rasgulla and samosa means Poornima. None can beat the softness of their rasgulla n taste of their samosa. And now it has also expanded to a grocery shop. Keep it up!!

Poornima Sweets has been around for quite sometime now in Zoo Tiniali and locals love it as much as we loved it when it popped up. The sweets are always super fresh and their samosas are really amazing. Kachoris too never disappoint. The outlet used to be better stocked earlier but nowadays, the shelves are almost always have empty. Nonetheless, the handful of sweet varieties they do keep are splendid and value for money. Would highly recommend their rasgullas and the breads from their bakery. Their curd too is always fresh.Follow @allshecooksandeats on Instagram for my food journey!#allshecooksandeats

Fed up with the western sweets but on the lookout for a original bengali sweets just head for Poornima sweets. A change from the sweets we normally encounter in today’s Guwahati and takes you to an age where sweets tasted different, chanar mithai not ghee coated sweets. This sweets shop is located on the left side if we are heading from Commerce college towards Zoo. You might even miss this shop because it does not have a show no advertisement. But for sure Poornima sweets is good enough to be visited. Samosas are effectively priced at Rs 7/ piece and it reminds us of the decade ago when one samosa was enough to fill your stomach along with a cup of tea. Chom Chom is also within manageable price and the rasgullas come at Rs 11 per Piece. Of course the Kheeror Gulla is the most sought after. The Chana pulao is another hit and I just love it although last Sunday I could not lay my hands on it but My eternal favourite is CHana pulao. A must visit place worth visiting might not be out of the world but this is what old Guwahati was all about which seems to be slowly losing itself in its concrete buildings .
