We were graciously invited to a LBB Insiders tasting table. at the In-Q at the Manor Hotel in New Friends colony. The theme of the cuisine is Indian contemporary fusion. The highlight of the tasting menu was the palate cleanser which was a little small chocolate bomb of French white chocolate and spiced mint water on the inside. After that followed ‘Kuttu’ which were buckwheat golgappas with avocado, tamarind and wasabi filling. The non-veg one had a prawn mousse in it. Surprisingly the veg ones were way better and way more structured in flavor, as compared to the non-veg ones. Post that came the Volcano and Butternut squash, These were both small balls of fusion food. The volcano was brain patte with an outer crust of rich crispies or ‘murmure’ and the butternut one had a sesame crust with some veggies inside. Both were unique experiments but not so great when it came to the taste. They were palatable at the best.Post that came the idli and sambar where we had nano idlis, with artisanal sambhar, which was like a clear broth with a nostalgic and sophisticated flavor bouquet. It was a little tangy, and the nano idlis and vegetables acted as croutons. The good part ends here. The main course was average at best. It was fried okra, which was strips of okra fried put on a base of an extremely tomato filled gravy. It seemed like the same base was used to make the chicken dishes, while the chicken was well cooked, but the gravy was not. These were accompanied with really cute but small naans. It just seemed a little odd. The tasting menu ended with a desert – a coconut payasam candy, which came as a kulfi, and won us for the unique experiment and presentation. However, the kulfi didn’t taste great because of the matcha dust on it. Most of the Insiders left the kulfi just because of the matcha dust, because it tasted really bitter. So kudos for the location and for the way the place is set up. It looks extremely elegant. All thumbs up for the experimentation on contemporary food. But it probably needs more experimentation because honestly it missed the mark.As a special note, the portion size was extremly small.Rest gives it a 3/5 and a Kudos on the experimentation.Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/rest_in_spice)Zomato (https://www.zomato.com/Rest_in_spice/dineline)LBB (https://lbb.in/users/ashish-chakravarty-tiptop)

The temper of this place is all the way classy and it’s just above most high end restraunt in terms of services and quality. It has an indian fusion take on food and uses molecular gastronomy to achieve the same and they do an amazing job of it.The starters are small in portion but can be termed as super taste starters as only a bite full of portion has a blast of flavours and taste. Try avocado puchka, it’s just phenomenal. Also the food here is exciting and makes use of indian components as red sabutdana

In-Q in Manor is one of the best fine dining places I’ve ever been to. The premium luxurious vibes gives you a very royal feeling. Their ambience is just so nice. Calm and cool ambience with fancy lights are just mesmerizing. The food here is just next station level, it’s something you’ve always imagined but doubted the existence. The presentation of the dishes itself is a great affair, they do it so well. I’m in love with their food. The service department needs no improvement whatsoever, the staff is best at their job and are very courteous, really loved their hospitality.

In-Q is a fine dining restaurant in The Manor in New Friends Colony. I went there with my friends to try their degustation menu. The chefs here use molecular gastronomy to create innovative versions of Indian dishes and the results are absolutely stunning! Before speaking about the dishes we tried, I must mention that we received a warm welcome from the staff. The settings at In-Q are classy and comfortable. It’s a lovely place for a date.We started the meal with an amuse bouche. It had white chocolate balls filled with tangy water. It created an explosion of flavours in my mouth. Loved it!Then came chaat which was served on black pebbles reminiscent of the streets of Chandni Chowk. It was probably cooled with liquid nitrogen which created an impression of Delhi fog! This dish was a visual delight and jam packed with flavours. It had a thick papri with fruit salsa and yogurt on top. We liked this dish so much that we ordered it twice. The next starter was Buckwheat (kuttu) kachori stuffed with avocado, wasabi and tamarind. I found this dish alright. Then came clarified sambar, which is fermented for many days to develop a naturally sour taste, with miniature idli, vada and fried pumpkin and eggplant. The sambar was delicious.Butternut squash egg with quinoa was the next dish. It was served on a bed of fried leek seasoned with togarashi. This dish was crispy on the outside and had a mildly sweet flavour and velvety texture on the inside. It was one of my favourites from the evening.Next dish was the confit duck paratha served with aloo rassa, mint chutney and cranberry sauce. The flavours of the dish were spectacular and we gobbled it down in no time. For mains, I had chicken tikka masala with mini garlic naans. The naans were extremely soft and the chicken had a luscious gravy. Then we tried the spinach kofta with lemon peanut couscous. The kofta was soft and the gravy, delicious. The couscous was good enough to be had on it own but with the curry it tasted even better. Then we has paneer tandoori which was stuffed with apricot and had some mint sauce on top. It was served in a plum sauce which was so good I could eat a whole bowl of it. This dish was served with amazing black pepper naans. For desserts we had air-dried halwa. It contained a yogurt-based kulfi stuffed with berries. I enjoyed this dessert. The last dish we tried was their snowball shrikhand. It was made entirely with yogurt, had a crisp outer coating but was soft on the inside. The dish was decorated with pistachio flakes and edible flowers. It was mildly sweet and we really enjoyed it.The chefs at In-Q are masters of their game! The technique of preparation, and the presentation and flavours of dishes are sure to wow anyone. The ambience and hospitality are amazing too. I highly recommend In-Q.
