The food was better than expected. Everything was fresh including the rotis that can sometimes be stored and reheated making them tough to bite. The flavours and spicing in everything was par excellence. The only thing that wasn’t upto scratch were the Mutton Kebabs. I found them tough to eat and would have expected them to more succulent. Coming back soon. Keep up the good work.

Definitely my favorite place for Authentic afgani food. With comfortable Ambiance, beautiful decorations and ofcourse super affordable price this place is highly recommended, specially if you are a meat lover. I’ve tried their Qabuli Uzbegi, a fragrant and very flavorful bit sweet rice preparation with rasins and sautéd carrots served with a grilled chicken and red bean curry, another delectable dish was kofta chalao, which is a meatball curry served with rice, bread and roasted spiced brinjal. And last but not the least mantu, almost similar to chicken dimsums but served with yellow lentil curry and curd, super juicy and filling. PS. You get a lot of food so order accordingly. And don’t forget to ask for free green tea at the end to cleanse those fatty meat out of your body.
My rendezvous with Afghan food has been so far so good and I have been a frequent face at the Kabul-Delhi restaurant in New Delhi.Tucked quietly in the allure and razzmatazz of charismatic Lajpat Nagar, the eatery dutifully serves as a modest destination to engage with Afghan delicacies. Crowded mostly by the Afghan folks the place however hosts a considerable number of foodaholic Indians every day. Operating initially from E-104, Ground Floor in Lajpat Nagar 2, the outlet now has an offspring too in proximity at I-83, Ground Floor. Although not tickling to extremity the flavor nevertheless is convincing and appealing. The service is worth rewarding and is furthered by the overwhelming hospitality and pleasant ambience. If free WiFi does not already win the tech-savvy corner of your soul, you have got to wait Of the a-la-carte I have personally laid hands and mouth on: Qabuli Pulao, Qabuli Uzbegi, Mutton Qorma, Chicken Qorma, Gosht Tikka Kabab, Sami Kabab, Kabab Chopan, Yakhni Gosht and Chicken Tikka Kabab.for the complementary serving of the sublime green tea with anything you order.
In was night of Eid al-adha and with few of my friends we planned to have some Afgan food. When we talk about Afgan food, Mazar, the shop next to Kabul Delhi, has always been the choice. But unfortunately Mazar was closed that night and we chose to pay a visit to Kabul Delhi: in one word it was really disappointing. First of all, none of us were Muslim/Afgan, we were not heavily dressed like them: hence we started receiving preferential treatment, it is appalling. I have been to many Muslim place on usual days to special occasions before: from Nizamuddin to Zakir Nagar to Old Delhi, but never even felt a bit uncomfortable ever. Though the person managing the cash was really nice, none of the waiters had minimal courtesy. Next, about the food: we did not expect quality of Mazar: neither we got. We tried Chopan Kabab, Quborgha Kabab (basically boneless Chopan Kabab), Kabuli Uzbeki and usual complimentary Roti and Rajma. Chopan Kabab was decent, but when you don’t get plate in your table, eating comfortably using tissues becomes a heft. Kabuli Uzbeki was full of Ghee/Dalda and really not upto the mark, however the lamb chucks were really big and nice. Overall, I shall give a 3 out of 5 for food considering it is really cheap. However, a big thumbs down for your bad manners: it is INDIA, our culture don’t teach us to treat people on the basis of their religion. We, despite being Hindu/Atheist, paying a visit at your place on an auspicious night, hope you understand we really appreciate your culture and we are inclusive.
Kabul Delhi is not a very fancy restaurant but if you want to have a wholesome food without splurging then this is one place you should visit .The speciality of Afghan food is that it doesn’t use any spices specially red Chilli . They only use green Chilli that too is served separate . So There gravies are not spicy but still full of flavour .So if you are fond of having hot spicy Indian food you may not find it very interesting but since I love Authentic non veg this place is one of my fav .The place is pretty reasonable .Every dish is serve d with a whole wheat nan ( bread ) , plate of red bean ( Rajma) and green salad .The pulaos are very delicious but they put raisins as one of the ingredients so it’s bit sweet in some bites ( I prefer separating the raisins at one side of plate )Kebabs are delicious too with very rich natural flavour .Manto is an Afghan dimsum which is served with heap of yellow channa dal and salads on TOP.I like to have my food with glass of mild cucumber flavoured lassi priced merely rs 20.You should visit just to introduce variety to your taste buds .
