Best: by the best. No words can describe the dining Experience at Plats. Each dish was perfect, thanks to the people I went with i was able to order a lot of small plates. The place was packed and people were waiting outside and I can understand why, with food like this it’s no brainier. Cheers to everyone from kitchen to service team to make sure our experience was perfect.
Really enjoyed the food at plats! We ate:- pork and chorizo dumplings: 5/5 This was my favourite dish of the night, the chilli oil really complemented the meat and the dumplings were made really well – glazed pork ribs: 5/5 This was one of the specials of the day and the ribs were cooked to perfection! With a yummy sauce -Katsu sandwich: 3/5 The Hokkaido bread wasn’t as soft and sweet as it should be and the chicken wasn’t crispy enough/ slightly soggy-shrimp and chicken stuffed wings: 4/5
The place opened recently, didn’t have liquor yet. We have ordered burrata, aubergine salad, sharing platters. In sharing platter combinations of small plates you can taste good enough for two. Good combinations of sandwiches, pastas and mains. I loved the mushroom buns, liver pate, linguine, slow cooked chicken, chocolate suffle tart.
On a chilly Sunday evening 4 friends decided to check out the new baby in the block Plats restaurant. We tried booking a table but in vain then we tried again at 9 and with hesitation the server on the other side of the call confirmed our reservation. But we were very surprised to find an almost empty restaurant with few diners. Must be some publicity stunt to get this new baby going. We didn’t mind. The restaurant is conveniently located in Malviya Nagar main road but parking can be a problem when crowded. The decor and ambience is very minimalistic, chic, modern and sophisticated and the focus is the food here. The chef patrons are Jamsheed & Hanisha of Tres fame and we went there with a lot of built up expectations, may be too much for a just opened eatery. No alchochol licence but the most striking thing was the prices, very expensive restaurant to start with. We had a vegetarian friend and so started with a Veg sharing platter @700 with 3 diff starters 3pc each. Only the shroom buns ones were worth remembering. The we moved to mans and ordered 4 mains:Seabass: Nice portion of seabass cooked perfectly with skin but then with an unnecessary crust on the skin making the skin soggy n chewy. Served with rice noodles, Thai curry sauce and charred bokchoy.Stuffed chicken breast: it was nicePumpkin, pesto risotto: loved with warm & filling risotto topped with goat cheeseBeetroot Pave : saddest dish and we didn’t finish it. Too sweet for our palate. Layers of cooked beetroot stuck with cheese. Dark chocolate souffle tart: very nice dessert to finish the meal. Brilliant tart with goey melting chocolate inside. Decadent..For this and no drinks we ended up paying 4500++ which is pretty high but justified by quality of ingredients and location. But again for this price we don’t want any misses all dishes need to be immaculate. There’s room for improvement specially for veg options and their execution. Its a new restaurant and would recommend all foodies to give it a try for great European food in Malviya nagar..
