This humble sweets shop,just outside my house is our one stop shop for samosa and chat cravings.Mediocre in every sense yet you cannot miss it,as there’s not much of competition for them.Whatever they sell is fresh and prepared in front of your eyes,barring the sweets,which according to me are Avoidable.
Vasant Kunj has no street vendors for items like Chaat but right across the road from the Vasant Square Mall, you’ll find Om Bikaner. They start making Samosas at 10, Jalebi at 4 & all kinds of chaat & ram laddu by 5. While their chaats are ok, their samosas are good, when consumed fresh & their sweets are mouth-watering. I’ve sampled their Kalakand, Kach Gulla, Chenna Toast and Rasmalai & I was in cloud nine. A must go for people who love Indian sweets.Only downside & perhaps a real issue is that this place is on the main road & the dust & pollution may affect one’s choice of venue. Food wise though, 3.5/5.
Dirty and unhygienic, I noticed a tray full of samosas on the floor while dirty water was been moped around it. When I asked them if they would sell them. A guy behind the counter tells me yes because we don’t have much stock!!
Excellent quality of sweets in Vasant Kunj. Wide variety of snacks also available. Prices are also reasonable. Hakka Hales is yummy. Must visit.
Their Aloo Tikki is amazing and Pao bhaji is ok.While I was disappointed by its Gujiya which I bought it on the occasion of Holi , as it contained lots and lots of Sugar ,Chaasni..So you can have Aloo Tikki from this place which is better than most of the places in vasant kunj..
