Searock Costal Cookhouse is a very famous chain from the Southern part of India and recently they have opened a location in CP , New Delhi. I have heard alot about this place from my friends from down south so thought would give it a try with my seafood loving friends ! We went here for lunch and enjoyed ourselves alot . They have a huge menu of classic dishes from Mangalore , Andhra Pradesh , Kerala and Karnataka . The server was a very friendly guy who helped us choosing what we should order . His recommendations were great and really hit the sweet spot . We were give Rassam to start with and it was really tangy and salty , just perfectly heartwarming . For starters we tried their Ghee Roast (signature dish) , Lamb Chops and Fish Fry . The Fish Fry was made using Surmai and the pieces of fish were big , chucky and thick , flavoured with spices and Fried pretty lightly . The Lamb Chops were next which were coated with spices and were super Juicy and fragrant . The Lamb Chops were grilled and the flavours were so good and complex that i really enjoyed it alot . The Lamb was cooked very well too , very juicy and tender indeed. Lastly the signature dish – Ghee Roast . They offer Ghee Roast is many types of protein but we chose to try the seafood ones – Crab , Squid and Prawns . The Ghee Roast was bomb , just too good . The flavours were really exceptional and the masala was really tasty . For most people it would be Spicy (not for me i didn’t find it Spicy at all infact) so beware or ask them to reduce the spice . But the main highlight was the Ghee itself and its aroma and flavour all around the Dish . Our server informed us they use a special Ghee found and sourced from a village in Mangalore where the Chef and Owner comes from . The flavours of the Ghee were just too much and it complemented the Seafood so well . Personally loved the Squids and Prawns , while the crabs are also great but are tough to eat even with all the cracking equipment . My personal favourite dish was the Ghee Roast in Squid and even Prawns . The dish goes perfectly with Neer Dosa and is a must order combo. We also ordered some Mango Smoothie which was very soothing and went perfectly with all this spice heavy food . For Mains we had Fish Biryani , Chicken Chettinad and Mutton Gassi which was accompanied with Appam . The Chettinad Chicken was nice and not too Spicy after a few of my friends asked them to reduce the spice levels for the maine course but still it was great and the Chicken was very tender . The Mutton Gassi was very well prepared too with loads of Flavour and tender meat. The fish Biryani was Also very nice with a great fragrant smell and special rice to cook the biryani in .
Everything was fantastic. A Management run place with amazingly friendly Manager and staff. Food wise, we started with the Eral Vathakkal, and Andhra Chili Fish which came with lovely set of side dips. Next the Biriyani Combo, and Appam with Chicken Stew. Some of the freshest paneer ghee roasted I have ever had. Looking forward to methodically working our way through the massive menu. A fantastic addition to the neighborhood! Welcome!
Amazing Indian food! Their sea food was just perfect. The Thali served with a variety of chutneys was extremely authentic. Payassam as desert was very good too. The staff was extremely welcoming and hospitable, coupled with excellent service makes this one of the best Indian places I’ve been to around the Central Delhi area. Will definitely visit this place again for some more good food.
The food was very good, but what was greater was the service! Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner, the restaurant brought out a complimentary dessert for him- it was amazing and delicious. We were a big group and they did all they could to accommodate our size. Food came out quickly and portions were good sized. Food, like I said, was delicious. We had Chicken Curry, Appam, Malabar Parotta, Sea food, Fish, Payassam etc. if you’re looking for South Indian food in the Mission, this is a great bet!
Had dinner here on Monday, and it was one of the hottest food in the City this year. Ordered the Appam with chicken stew, Biryani Combo and Malabar Parotta with Chicken Curry .So the entrees came out rather haphazardly, but it’s their first few days of operation so that didn’t really matter. The quality of the food though, from the crispy delicious naan, to the aromatic chicken, the exquisitely flavored curry, to authentic biryani. Quite frankly, there is not a restaurant in the city that can match the quality of the food. It’s a non pretentious, not too huge, place. But don’t go for anything except the food. It will not disappoint
I have finally found a place in Central Delhi to eat good South Indian Coastal food ! Starting from Chettinad Nandu Masala , Andhra Chili Fish to mildly flavored Ulavacharu Mutton Biryani.. it is not overpriced and ones doesn’t go into food coma after indulging in good food ! I highly recommend this place as an excellent coastal cuisine restaurant.
Pretty authentic Indian food. Came here the first time by accident, but liked the food so much that we kept going back. The Andhra Chili Fish with Royyala Iguru, Kerala Njandu Roasted and Meen Pollichathu is mind blowing, cant get enough of it. Other items we tried are Malabar Parotta with Chicken Curry are amazing. Can’t find a more authentic South Indian restaurant in Delhi NCR.They can definitely improve on service like managing demand, giving a believable eta of table availability etc. But calling ahead of time for a table will help.
