My mom makes dahi bhalla much much better than this.
I tried the dahi bhalle & the aloo tikki here. The dahi bhalle was nice but the aloo tikki was so yummy! The only downside of this place is that there’s no seating, you have to stand & eat on a crowded footpath.
Today is the last day of my short Delhi trip. Train is at 4 pm, I have only a few hours for going out and eating in Delhi. So, I went out for breakfast as soon as I woke up, the destination is Chandni Chowk, Delhi 6.I started walking in the crowded street opposite to the Red Fort. There were hundreds of shops selling staffs on both the sides, it was a feast for senses.After having the parathas in the famous Paranthe Wali Gali and Jalebi from the Old Famous Jalebi Wala I went to Natraj Cafe. It’s a tiny place on the corner of a narrow lane. This place is famous for its Dahi Bhalle (fried lentil balls served with yoghurt and garnished with chutney) and deliciously crispy Aloo Tikki (spiced potato patties), each of which costs ₹50. There was a long que in front of the stall, so I went upstairs and had a glass of cold coffee and Dahi Valle. Oh, boy! those were amazing! Those were refreshing!It was about time I had to come back to New Delhi Railway Station. I had only 10 hours to eat at Delhi and I had a great time there!আজই শেষদিন আমার দুদিনের দিল্লি সফরের। বিকেল 4 টায় ট্রেন, হাতে আর কয়েক ঘণ্টা মাত্র। তাই ঘুম থেকে উঠে আর সময় নষ্ট না করে বেরিয়ে পড়লাম ব্রেকফাস্টের উদ্দেশ্যে।আজ লক্ষ্য চাঁদনী চক।শিবাজী পার্ক থেকে বাস ধরে সোজা লালকেল্লার সামনে। দু-চারটা ফোটো তুলে হাঁটা লাগালাম উল্টোদিকের গলিতে। ভির রাস্তা, দুদিকে হাজারো দোকান, শুরুতেই গেলাম পারাঠা ওয়ালী গলির বিখ্যাত বাবুরাম দেবী দয়াল পরোটা র দোকানে। এর আগে বিভিন্ন ব্লগ আর্টিকেলে ছবিতে আর ইউটিউব এর ভিডিও তে দেখেছিলাম এই পুরনো অলিগলি গুলো। আজ এখানে এসে সামনে থেকে দেখে সবকিছু যেন স্বপ্নের মতো লাগছিল। পরোটা খেয়ে খেলাম গরম গরম জিলাপি।এরপর কিছুটা হেঁটে চলে গেলাম নটরাজ ক্যাফে। সামনে বিরাট ভিড়, আলুটিক্কি বা দই ভল্লে হাতে। উপরে উঠে আমি খেলাম দহি ভল্লে আর কোল্ড কফি। কলকাতায় যেটা দই বড়া, এখানে সেটা দহি ভল্লে, খেয়ে প্রান ঠান্ডা হয়ে গেলো।শুরুটা যতটা ভালো ছিল, শেষটাও ততোটাই। এইটুকু সময়ে তো আর সবজায়গায় যাওয়া বা সবকিছু খাওয়া সম্ভব নয় তবে এই ছোট্ট দিল্লি সফরে যা দেখলাম যা খেলাম তাতে আমি অভিভূত। পরেরবার এখানে আবার আসতেই হবে ভাবতে ভাবতে ফিরে এলাম স্টেশনে।#platesofjoy Rating -Food – 9/10Value for Money – 9/10Ambience – 8/10Service – 9/10Overall – 9/10
After hearing about this cafe in Chandni Chowk, I visited it this April. The Cafe is famous for its Dahi Bhalle and its world renowned. The cafe is actually just a small seating on the first floor while the tikkis and the Bhallas are prepared on the ground floor. The stairs may seem a little narrow and unkempt but its worth it. The best Tikki and Dahi Bhalle I have had in a long time. The cafe also gives lassi to coffee which is reasonable and quite delicious for its price. So after a long draining day of shopping at Chandni Chowk do visit Natraj Cafe for a quick bite and get going as the metro is just 2 minutes walk from here.
This must be a local favourite. It’s packed any time of day. Limited choice from the Chaat stall on the ground floor. Delicious crispy aloo tikki and dahi bhalle. They have a small eating place up a narrow steep staircase. Cheap and good. Decent hygiene for locals but foreigners may like to avoid it.
Went chandni chowl for shaadi shopping and stopped here for tikki and chaat. This place has amazing options at very reasonable prices.Hygiene is also taken care of. Tikki was very crisp and tasty. Love this place food.
