Dosa was tasteless
The portion size of dosa is too small
If you are a student or young professional who’s just landed in Delhi and are thinking about how to pay for the rent and recharge your metro card at the same time, head over here.For people who’ve managed to stabilize their lives a little, head over if you lost your wallet or got locked out of your house with little money.PRICE. This is the cheapest place in Mayur Vihar. Literally. I’ve been staying here for the past 3 years and I can say that with certainty.AMBIANCE. The dirty, dingy, hole in the wall kitchen, the torn, gutka stained banner with the menu and the irritated man who’s sitting out front and occasionally spitting the gutka makes up the ambiance. There’s no chairs.FOOD is borderline bad but despite the less than hygienic surroundings, haven’t led to any health upsets so far, from what I’ve heard. Taste should not matter to you, someone who has turned up here due to extreme circumstances. But still, there’s too much oil, most of the sabzis are just gravy and the salads are from day before yesterday.Pretty much, what you’d expect. But it’s still tasty owing to the overload of spices and a half plate worth may be more than you might be able to handle. Somehow the Rotis are very nice.SERVICE is fast and they do home delivery.Chakraborty Tip : The photos in the reviews before me are actually from New Himalay Bhojanalaya, another slum joint which has recently overhauled the room it occupies. The menu listed on Zomato is also wrong. I doubt they’ve ever seen a Vada.
This is probably the cheapest place with such an amazing food. Went there with my family and they all liked this place we ordered sambhar idli which is worth its price. The idlis were so soft and tasted good with sambhar and coconut chutney. The sambhar includes lots of veggies and was very tasty. Their veg chowmein is very spicy and yummy. The ambience is nice but always crowded. The service is on time.
So I have been a regular for this outlet – order in or pick up.It’s kind of simple, clean and to an extent my comfort food so whenever don’t feel like eating home food and want it quick, I order from here.My rating for this outlet is low due to my recent experience.Ordered food -Sambhar Vada – super duper oily Vada with the packet soaked in oil and the when I took it out my hand was also full of oilMysore masala dosa – not that I haven’t eaten this dish before, I know it is supposed to be spicy but this was next level. Super salty, extremely spicy. It was a task for me to finish it, m not the one to waste food so had to eat it.Special masala dosa – same masala as Mysore masala dosa but with added chopped onions cooked in dollops of oil.The coconut chutney was super bland as if it’s been served raw – though I know how it’s made and have made it myself so I know it isn’t cooked on the gas but this one looked off and raw!!!Just the worst food experience from this place!!!Don’t think so I am going to order again.You can go wrong with one dish but not all and the extras!!!
