Mesa Wine Bistro was on my list since a long while, Recommended by members of many Wine Clubs, this place impresses with the wine selection, many of them available by the glass. Mesa builds on the catchy phrase of from 9 to wine and it really justifies the concept of having an expansive wine selection and a premium preservation system. Serving tweaked Spanish preparations, their Menu is concise so it’s quite easy to choose but the food isn’t anything exceptional and we felt that when we started. We started off with Lamb Meatballs with Spicy Marinara, a really good marinara with a tangy tomato base with hints of pepper coming on beautifully but the lamb meatballs were a little too dense, the texture was off but nevertheless they tasted good. Coming to the only highlight of the meal for me, Bacon & Chorizo Sausages, with a slight coating of chunky, and peppery tomato sauce which was seasoned so well! This was paired with the The Clos Ventana Blanco 2018 from Spain which was refreshingly different, light on the mouth, slightly dry with some crisp notes of fruits on the nose and on the palate!Coming to the Sutffed Portobello Mushrooms, The Portobello Mushrooms are one of my favourites because of the umami taste and these ones at Mesa were good but nothing really stood out for me.Slightly disappointed we thought to try the Paella and the Chicken Coca, the Spanish flatbread with monterey jack cheese, smoked chicken and blue cheese, this was another disappointment, monetery jack is mildly flavoured so the only powerful flavor in that was blue cheese which was a bit too less. The cheese itself felt like a mixture of some 2-3 cheeses. The Paella at Mesa Bistro ticks off a couple of right boxes except 2, let’s talk about good things first, a well done short grain rice which absorbed water brilliantly and didn’t turn to mush, a good amount of broccoli, asparagus, almonds, and garlic chips. The 2 pointers where it didn’t fare well was the seasoning and the socarrat, The slightly toasty rice (socarrat) was hardly there, the nuts for that garlic tasted good but the one thing that could have tied it together was the seasoning which was sadly almost missing. After this our minds were made but we tried the Char Grilled Tenderloin, a beautiful piece of loin, albeit a bit too rare but charred just right and a jus that did feel like it belonged with the meaty tenderloin. The desserts were so much better then other things but overall this was a meal with quite some ups and downs.
So finally I found a perfect place for a wine lover. Where you’ll get a great variety of wine with an amazing ambience and food. This property contains both outdoor and indoor sitting. The staff is polite and humble. The presentation , taste , variety everything was up to the mark.Highly recommended!!
*****nice food *****am first time enjoying European food. Thank you so much all staff especially manager Satish. Am trying very soon coming with my family this restaurant.
A beautiful place, with very courteous staff and very well priced Wines. If you are an Italian fanatic, then you would definitely love this place in Aerocity. Also, they serve Blue Tokai Coffee!
