A lovely, artsy place with an indoor and outdoor seating. The Chef is super sweet and prepared a dish as per my liking on my request and it was the most delish pasta I have had in a while.. the vibe is lovely and the view from the pool is also lovely!!
Being from ahmedabad, you cant miss the project cafe. Situated at a remote area in north goa, this place is beautiful. The interiors make you fall in love at once. Its like a little traditional goa on the north side wherein we majorly have party places.Loved the coffee from blue tokai. Food looked good too. But definitely reccomend.
Old Portuguese House nicely converted into a cafe, restaurant and boutique. When there for breakfast. They do offer outside seating. We seat inside since it was hot. Went there for breakfast. Ordered pancakes, waffles and shakes. The pancakes there amazing, so goes for the waffles. The shakes are something you need to look forward too. They do have very interesting menu of shakes some combination.
The Project Cafe Goa has some really interesting concepts with food, such as the marriage of two elements so integral to local cuisine: clams and Goan sausage. I’ve not had the two together before, but in true surf and turf fashion, they pair very well together, with a sharp contrast in both flavour and texture. But that’s not all that stood out for me. I’ve learnt not to underestimate the power of having your own kitchen garden. The homegrown herbs and spices made the Tamarind Prawns our favourite dish here. The only thing I’m not entirely sure how I feel about at this place is the poie-like base instead of an English muffin for the Eggs Benedict.
When you say “Cafe” I usually get the impression of a small place that serves finger food, burgers, sandwiches etc! But the project cafe changed my description about a cafe. Nestled in an old Portuguese house in the isolated village of Assagao is “Bismarckia- The Project cafe”. Not only is it a mere cafe but also has accommodation available along with a swimming pool. It’s a huge Portuguese house that is neatly refurbished. You have the option of outdoor as well as indoor seating. We decided to inside. The staff is friendly and helped us in deciding what to order. Food quantity is good and food was delicious too. The food was clean and seemed hygienic. Very much different from the usual spicy goan food. The ambience of this place is very cute and would force you to open your cameras. The crowd is decent and silent. It’s a very peaceful place. The only drawback is there is no network coverage available so you have to disconnect yourself from the world. Wifi is available!
Portuguese houses are my biggest weakness. They bring out this child like excitement in me. Naturally when I visited the Project Cafe, I felt like I was in candyland. The speciality of project cafe is the fact that you can buy anything and everything you see there. They have a room with furniture in it that can be bought. They have paintings all over the place that can be purchased. Even the sheer curtains can be bought!! Isn’t that a delight? The manager, Aakash at Project Cafe was very kind to give us a tour of the place. Project cafe is not just a restaurant but also a boutique hotel with beautiful rooms and a swimming pool. The restaurant named Bismarckia, has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has concrete tables with the Bismarckia leaf carved atop it. There’s art everywhere at Project Cafe. Now coming to the menu. They have a huge breakfast selection that made me wish I came for breakfast instead. The lunch and dinner menu has limited choice but it makes choosing even more simpler. We chose the Guacamole Prawns on toast and the Tamarind Prawns. The Guacamole toast had a nice earthy and fresh taste while the tamarind prawns were nice and plump batter fried prawns in a tangy sauce. For main course we ordered Fish and Chips, Lamb Meatball Spaghetti and Lemon Fish. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked. The fish was cooked right. It still had the juiciness to it while being crisp and perfectly golden. The Lemon Fish was also beautiful. The potatoes and tardiness of the lemon sauce went beautifully with the, yet again, perfectly cooked fish. However they could go a little slow on the olives and capers which add too much of acidity to an already acidic dish. These two dishes were the heroes of my lunch! For dessert we ordered the chocolate molten cake with raspberry sorbet and the almond cake with coconut butter. The chocolate molten cake was a tad bit over cooked and tad less sweet. However with the raspberry sorbet, it amalgamated well. The almond cake was similar to the Goan Baath and is perfect for palettes that love a good tropical coconut dessert. Food: 4/5Ambience: 5/5VFM: 4/5
This beautiful cafe nestled in the village of Assagao is a sight for sore eyes! From its old world Portuguese inspired architecture to it’s innovative continental menu, there’s a lot to appreciate at The Project Cafe. Aside from serving food, they’re also a boutique hotel with a pool and everything. They even have an art gallery and a boutique store on the property itself. But I’m here to talk about the food, so let’s begin, shall we?They’ve got a wide range of really cool cocktails to choose from for beverages, but since it was a Sunday, I decided to go for something without alcohol in it. I had their detox drink, it was a concoction of lime juice, coriander and mint and was super refreshing. We also tried the Kokum basil cooler which again was really refreshing, especially on a hot Sunday afternoon! For starters, we had Tamarind prawns, pan fried chicken and roasted pepper hummus, all really great! Especially loved the prawns. We went straight to dessert after tapas and had the molten chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet. This was heaven on a plate to say the least! And lastly, we had the almond cake with coconut butter, a great dessert for all those who don’t like chocolate. Very light and pleasing to the palate. I would highly recommend the Project Cafe! In fact, I’d love to come here again to try out their breakfasts because they looked oh-so tempting on the menu. I’m definitely going there again and if you’re in the area, so should you 🙂
