A very pretty cafe in the middle of nowhere in Mapusa, Goa. Came here while trying to find out some place to eat. Located inside a traditional Goan house, this is probably one of the best places to have a hearty meal. We had Pork Chops in a special African sauce. I forgot the name. There was Prawns in Sriracha Sauce. This was one of the best oriental curries I had in a long time. Loved every bit of it.There was pet dog that the owner had. I am afraid of dogs. Surprisingly, the dog wanted to get up on me and I was scared. The owner was very reluctant about the whole issue. I think it’s totally upto the owner if she wants to keep a pet in her property but as she has opened it to the public, there should be a disclaimer at the entrance to beware of dogs. Then one can choose at the entrance if they want to come or not. That’s it. Loved the ambience, the food. But the service of the owner was very bad.
Excellent food and beautiful setting in an old house. Feels very homely and service is warm and friendly. The tri color soup, milkshake, salad and the prawns pesto were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend it
Lovely hidden gem in the hills of Goa. Getting to it was a real adventure in itself and the nature all around make this place truly magical. Run by Sonal , she and her friends made it a lovely experience, I went there with my wife and our little baby Charlie (a little Maltese pup). They not only made us comfortable but taught Charlie a thing or two. The food was fabulous and we throughly enjoyed our food. Have a look at the pictures to see what we ate and also please check out and subscribe to my Vlog to see the whole adventure suniTvlogs on YouTube https://youtu.be/AhqpwOziiS0
Order the Eggs Benedict and the WC signature smoothie and you won’t regret it. Deliciousness in every bite and sip! Must go back soon and try out some more stuff!
Loved it! Great cafe in the middle of nowhere! Fast WiFi, can work smoothly on your laptop, people there are lovely! If you’re a student it’s a little heavy on your budget, but the sheer location and quality is worth it.
Difficult place to locate, but worth our while. Amazing ambience and a homely place. Limited dishes on menu but quite filling if you have a moderate appetite. Nice lifestyle store attached. Wish they were open for dinner too.
What a delightful, little cafe located on a hill far from the madding crowd. Discovered this place quite by chance. My family and I were looking for a place for coffee in Mapusa on a recent trip. Saw the listing and decided to take a chance. It was a slightly longish drive for coffee but boy was it worth it! An old Goan villa amidst a thick cover of trees, you might almost miss it if you drive too fast. But in this part of Goa everything is slow including the driving. The cafe was empty so we weren’t sure if it was open for business. But the warm welcome we got from the lady running the place immediately dispelled our apprehensions. There was a cute dog lounging in the living room whom my kid took an immediate liking for. We ordered a decanter of freshly brewed coffee which we liked so much that we ordered a refill. We also ordered the apple pie for my kid. Was easily the yummiest apple pie I have ever had. If you are ever in this part of Goa and want to spend a tranquil couple of hours, I would strongly recommend paying Whispering Cafe and Store a visit. Just call them before you land up just to make sure they are open though.
