I know everyone sings praises about Jila’s eclairs, but it’s not my favourite thing – I personally prefer chocolate ganache over my eclair rather than what I think is glaze made with cocoa and icing sugar. However, the eclair is a nice treat. What I loved, and would definitely go back for, is the cashew crumble. Perfect mix of crunchy and chewy. So good!Location is a little out of the way but the home adds to the charm of this quaint village bakery. Worth the visit.

What a place it is !!The best place to grab some goodies while you are in south goa. The place is little interior but I promise once you reach here you will find it worth. The best thing is you can try the goodies even before buying them. I loved the melting moments, apple strudel, rich plum cake and the best is chocolate eclair!!They are amazingly yummy and do ask them to pack some of them for you so that you can eat them in your whole outing.

Jila Bakery is definitely among the top 10 bakeries in Goa and is located off the highway in the village of Loutolim. It’s run by an old Goan family that has through the years, passed down the recipes to ensure consistent and quality products everytime.⁣We tried the Eclairs⁣, Geneva Pastry, Cheese Straws and Melting MomentsThis is hands down one of the best eclairs we have ever tasted. Each bite into this fluffy, light, delicate pastry is followed by an ooze of the creamy and flavorful custard centre. It’s topped with a small layer of chocolate which is a little sweet but is balanced in the overall sweetness of the pastry.⁣The Geneva Pastry as a whole had a very soft and nutty composition with just the right amount of caramelisation on the top. The texture complimented the flavor really well.A regular cheese straw with a cheese flavor between layers of light, thin and crisp pastry. It’s mostly made on order.A beautiful blend of sugar, caramel and egg whites, the Melting Moments are light biscuits that actually melt in your mouth.

Taking Bakery in India to A Class Apart!!Jila Bakey is awarded “Best Village Bakery” in India for a Reason and all its products confirms the same.I have a Sweet Tooth and just like Alton Ego (in Ratatouille), I can say the same about sweet Dishes:“I don’t like Food. I love It…if I don’t Love it I don’t swallow”Now coming to review part. It is a House Business, where you will be greeted by members of the House. If you are moving from Margao to Ponda, you need to take a short detour towards Loutolim. Google map is very correct, about location. Without the map, it would have been quite tricky to find. All their products are paper wrapped. We tried the Eclairs (which need to be consumed on same day) and what Great Eclairs they are. From the texture to the Flavor, all are top notch. The cream oozing out from the crunchy wrap will take you to 7th Heaven. We brought some other products from there to Kolkata which included “Apple Strudel” (which is another must have. The cinnamon Flavored apple lingers for several days and will lure you to ask for more), A nut Flavored Cookie (sorry I forgot the name. It is of absolute correct balance of sticky sweetness and crunchiness. Each of my family members have loved it. A perfect gift to bring back Home from Goa) and The Most Famous Rich Plum Cake (well no doubt this is tasty, but I loved the other products better, It is very much my personal opinion.)I would request any foodie with sweet tooth to take this detour and have a taste of authentic Home Baked Goan bakery5+/5 on Rating
