When happy memories turn into unpleasant experiences, the disappointment is acute. And this is just what happened at Martin’s Corner. My husband and I were looking forward to having a really good time over dinner to celebrate our anniversary, but left wishing we had gone elsewhere instead. With an average band duo that did nothing to stir up spirits of the diners, the only thing that could have saved this evening was the food. It started off on a really good note with a not- bad kokum virgin mojito, tasty prawns masala, and a good beef asaad. We truly believed that the main courses would be even better than the good starters, but that was not to be. The Mutton Xacuti and the Pork Vindalho came with masala that was so poorly cooked that the very first morsel itself put me off completely as I tasted the gritty, harsh uncooked masala on my tongue. We gingerly picked out the meat pieces from the gravy, and left all of the gravy of both the dishes, and even left a large part of the meat pieces as they were covered with the grit of the masala. Shockingly bad for a restaurant like Martin’s Corner. Is this one of those very common experiences where a restaurant tries to live on its past glory, caring not about maintaining its standards? At the prices they charge, one would expect greater attention being paid to the quality of the food. When we spoke of this to our goan driver, he did not seem at all surprised and said that many other people had had unpleasant experiences, and had spoken of the place ‘going down’. Another surprising element was that a goan place does not serve either goan rice nor goan poi! Neither my husband nor I are returning to this place in a hurry.

Beautiful ambience! It is a fine dining restaurant and you’ll spot people from all generations- from a kid to elderly ones!It is Lit and you can request the artist there to sing your favorite songs! It was jampacked and we waited for around 30+ minutes…Service is Average and so is food taste .Favorite? : Paneer Tikka Masala in Indian Main Course & TiramisuImprovements? : Manchow soup tasted like Hot & Sour and Apple pie is a No – No!

Great place with superb food.I had a 1.5kg lobster an Big tiger prawns, NY cheese cake an coconut souffle – won’t trade any of the dishes for alternatives. Everything was awesome. No wonder place was packed even on Monday night in September. I’m going back again. If in South Goa do eat here. It is expensive but worth it.

This place was on my list of restaurants to be visited! The ambience here is lovely! The staff here is friendly and welcoming! I was in a hurry as I had a flight to take! So we just tried 3 dishes here- King Fish Chonok (recommended), Chicken Pepper Steak and Prawns Chilly! Prawns being my absolute favourite will be given 5 stars. Chicken pepper steak had a few veggies which was also good! Highlight was Chonok ( King fish ).. be it the fish or prawns or chicken- they were cooked to perfection! The taste of Chonok was awesome given the perfectly cooked fish yet the moist texture! The spices were very well balanced! And had a red Sangria to make the meal complete! I’m definitely coming here next time with ample time to try the rest of the dishes!

Loved their Prawn Masala Fry. We ordered Chicken Xacuti in the main course and that was also amazing. This place is a must visit if you love sea food and Goan cuisine. Food is at very affordable rate. They added some spices over the prawn masala fry which was addictive. The dessert we ordered in Tender Coconut Soufflé which had a complete new taste according to my taste-buds. Coming back to the ambiance it will soothe your mind and at the same lift up your mood. Live music was on and everything was perfect about the ambiance. I will come again to this place for both the ambiance and the food.
