  I have been a fan of Mexican food for quite some time now and I always love exploring new restaurants that offer Mexican food. Just recently I came across this amazing place called Burrito Boys located at the Calangute-Arpora road.AmbianceNothing lavish, but the place offers a feeling of warmth and a relaxed and chilled out kind of an atmosphere. Some big benches, some table-chairs, a pool table on the side, a big bar and music console with some big lanterns make this place look quite interesting.FoodSince I visited this place with my family and a very dear friend and in order to try out different things, we ended up having too many dishes on our table. Looking at the portion size, we realized that there was too much food between the five of us. So just a word of caution, don’t go on ordering too many dishes, their portions are really good and also very filling. Here are the dishes that we triedOrange Braised Beef BurritoNow, this is on top of my list in every which way, this is one dish that will take me back to Burrito Boys. The beef was so juicy and tasty that words can’t justify. These burritos were extremely filling and trust me half a portion was sufficient to satiate my hunger, but of course sometimes yeh dil mange more.Chipotle Mushroom BurritoCreamy mushrooms tossed in chipotle sauce and filled with beans and veggies, this is a great option for vegetarians.Mackrel TacosThese are absolutely a must have, beer battered fried fish loaded with an amazing house sauce in not so crispy tacos makes for a very very delicious dish.Chicken QuesadillasThese were just amazing, I loved the preparation and the presentation too.Chicken EnchilladasChicken TingaNachosThe above three were good too, but I have described my favourites for you to know that those are the dishes that I personally recommend.HospitalityThe owners of the place, Alex and Graham are both so friendly and hospitable that their warmth flows down to the entire staff at the bistro. Alex who belongs to the UK started his career by washing dishes in restaurants and enjoyed his work a lot, he apparently had no interest in cooking. As per him, the chefs of those restaurants took good care of him and slowly his interest in cooking started to take shape. Both Alex and Graham started by putting up stalls at various events that happened around the UK. When they came to Goa, they began their business in the same way and put up stalls at the Saturday Night Markets in Goa. Soon their burritos became very popular and the obvious next step for them was to have a place of their own and this how their restaurant came into existence.Final WordEven though their burritos are very popular at the Saturday Night Market, not many people know that they now have this lovely restaurant.   Exploring new places, especially in my new home town Goa is something I am enjoying a lot. And like all of you know, I am a big foodie, so whenever my mother plans an outing, I am more interested in knowing about the place where we gonna eat.This time around to celebrate my grand mom’s birthday, we opted for this Mexican restaurant called Burrito Boys and I am so glad we made the choice. Here are my top 5 reasons for recommending this place to everyone who wants to savor some scrumptious Mexican food.FoodAs the name suggests, these guys are known for their Burritos. Even though their restaurant is relatively new, they have been extremely popular with their burritos as they keep putting stalls at the Saturday Night Market in Goa. I personally loved the Orange Braised Beef Burrito and Chipotle Mushrooms Burrito. Smokey Chicken Quesadillas are something that will take me back to this place very soon, I just loved them. Also, try Chicken Tinga, Chicken Enchiladas and Nachos, they are worth your attention.AmbianceI like places which exude warm vibes, a place should feel welcoming enough for one to spend some time there, and this cute little place does just that. They even have a pool table and you can try at hand at a game while you sip on your drinks and binge on the food.HospitalityThe entire staff including the owners of Burrito Boys are extremely friendly and warm people. The smiles on their face bring so much positivity and energy that you would even enjoy holding conversations with them. Special mention to the Burrito Boys Alex and Graham, they are just lovely and listening to Alex’s story of how it all started was really an amazing thing.LocationIt is quite centrally located on the Calangute-Arpora road and the approach to the place is quite simple. Google maps can drop you right at the location so in case you don’t know much about the place, you can easily reach following the map without any twist and turns.AffordableI found the place very pocket-friendly. A meal for two people would not cost more than Rs 800-1000 including drinks. Because their portion size is really good and the burritos very filling, two people can share one dish and ordering a maximum of two dishes would be sufficient between 2 people.I highly recommend this place and should definitely be on your list.   We,new to Goa,we’re taken on my wife’s birthday on 13.0319 to the place and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise to have some authentic Mexican food.We had the Orange Braised Beef burritosChicken EnchiladasFish tacos which was truly a delight.They also have a well stocked bar and is really pocket friendly.Recommend a visit.
