Alex Bar and Restaurant though run by Alex is just so awesome because of his wife, who cooks the most authentic Goan Portuguese dishes. It is a very humble place which includes his two young sons and a dog, a home away from home. I have been frequenting Alex for the last 12 years and the food has been the same!! The best dishes I would recommend would be the pork sausage chilli, beef chilli, bangda raechad fry and of course the fish curry rice. Check out the other dishes on the menu. Make sure to tell him if you do not want it spicy. When in Goa, eat at Alex, food to live for!
Impossible to eat, l ask for PORK and got SOMETHING in Spain we called CHORIZO, (pork sausage)not able to eat, was just chilli and masala.i saw a table near me 8 persons eating and drinking, and Alex charge them 2000 rs. i was alone, no ate, and he charged me 630rs.Dont go, at least if you are not indian, or if you have stomach.
if you are around baga, a tourist and you haven’t tasted goan authentic dishes yet, then this is your checkin..courteous service i must say. so, if you are here, xacuti is a must try dish 🙂
This restaurant is managed by the very humble Mr Alex and his wife who cooks the best goan food in my opinion. I’ve been frequenting this place for the past 8 years now and the food has never disappointed. My personal favourites are the Prawn Raechad, Beef chili fry and Sausage chili fry. The fish curries and fried fish are awesome as well. This place is easy on the pocket and the owner himself says that he just runs the restaurant for him and his family to get by and to cover their day to day expenses. I love how this place feels like having lunch or dinner at an old relative’s house and not at a fancy restaurant where you not only end up spending more but also miss out on authentic goan food.Do visit and you’ll keep going back for more.
