Went out to sample some authentic Goan cuisine and walked into Casandre. Its a small house turned into a cozy restaurant which served one of the best xacuti and vindaloos i have ever eaten. The fabled vindaloo was so spicy that I, who for the record have a very high threshold for spice, was left in tears! Sadly, they didn’t have Bibinca so we had ice cream and matka kulfi for dessert.Brilliant food and very cozy.Best,The Wandering Epicurean

Horrendous, terrible, an absolute disgrace to the food industry. Mislead by waiters, hour long waiting times and that too for cold and half fulfilled orders. Save yourselves!
A really calm & chill place near the Calangute beach that serves an array of authentic Goan dishes. The interiors give that typical Goan vibe. They have an accessible pool table & a wooden dart board! We were slightly disappointed with the Sangria we ordered as the wine was really strong & didn’t go well but later on they changed it. We ordered the rava fried squid which was amazing! It was cooked to perfection. Also ordered Xucati which is basically prawns curry with rice. Do opt for Goan rice as it just goes along really well. You have options of chicken, prawns & crabs as your meat. Definitely visit this place for an amazing taste of Goan food!
Actually want it to rate zero but no option. me and friends visited goa last week. we were staying near calungute beach only, me and my friends desperately want it to try Chicken Caferal in goa as we heard this is one of the popular dish in goa, and while roaming in the calungute market we saw the board which was hooked outside restaurant in specials of day. we walked in to the restaurant to see the menu and we did the same and mean time my friend asks for restroom and he went to the restroom. after a minute one of the old man with (half chaddi) came to me with angry face and start argument with me, saying you cannot use wash room unless and until your are not spending money or buying something. this is pathetic way to handle customers/guest in the restaurant as per hospitality ethics. I would like make him note Every person who walks in to your so called restaurant is not intensely come to use restroom so please use your mind before judging peoples. Guys be aware of this man rest everything was awesome, had beer in frozen mug which was best moment of the place all the best…….
ok food i would give it a miss. Th ebaked crab is purely white sauce where you have to search for the crab. The chicken is ok, the rest very ordinary, ambience is great, but then you can always slum it out in front of the sea. Food is just average, or atleast what we had. the potato skin fries were quite nice!
