Visited there and ordered mix fruit juice and prawns. Juice was delicious but prawns were not at all tasty. However u can enjoy the sea view for free. Not impressed much.
Been there last evening to get a bite, it’s in Calungte beach and staff will be there welcoming you and inviting to come by their restaurant. We ordered for poached eggs in toast and veg grilled platter with 2 cold coffees and one chocolate shake it was good. I loved the eggs preparation it was just perfect and the veg platter got potatoes, paneer, mushrooms all nice spiced up with good quantity for 2 people. Staff over here are friendly but service takes bit long. Well we don’t mind when you get amazing sea view. ashalivelovefood.wordpress.com
I found Cheers Beach Shack as ‘Cheap And Best’. Beer is cheap and food is awesome. Try their Chicken Chilly Fry and Chicken Curry (Cooked by Ajay) and if you take a table, make sure you are attended by Vinod.
Cheers was really the worst shack I went to. Do not order the pasta, it was really bad. Even the sizzler which they claim is their speciality was not up to the mark. The garlic bread was plain bread slice with a cheese slice and chopped up garlic on it. They didn’t seem to get even one dish taste right. There are many other shacks on that stretch, I’d suggest go somewhere else.
Went to this place all thanks to our water sports coordinating guy.It is pretty similar to all other shacks in Calangute. The ambiance is nice, and food is decent. Perfect for a lazy day beneath the sun.
If you are looking for a romantic dinner by the side of the sea calangute and baga beach shacks may not be the apt place. My husband and myself went to calangute beach for dinner and every shack on the beach were playing loud music as if they all are in a competition to find the loudest. This shack thankfully had no music playing, nevertheless the adjacent shacks were playing contrasting music. But what attracted us to have dinner here was the attitude of the guy (Sameer) who asked us to look into their menu. he was the least compelling and decent enough to give us space to decide on our own.He keeps in mind that the Indian tourists have a spicy palette and recommends dishes accordingly. Also he gives great suggestions to first time drinkers or light drinkers on what cocktails to select. We had the prawns in white wine sauce first. the prawns were sweet and juicy as it should be but we were disappointed as we couldn’t taste the wine in the dish. this comes with a raw vegetable salad and french fries. After this we tried one whole Red Snapper made in two ways- masala fried and rawa fried. Anyone who has been to Goa knows that the restaurants provide the customers the option of selecting from an array of different variety of fishes. This was one like that. Again both came with french fries and salad. The fish was awsome. The masala fried fish you eat in goa are fried first and then dipped in masala . the masala is rich in spices like the cinnamon, corriander, chilli, etc. overall it was a good experience. 1 beer, 1 mocktail, 1prawns in white wine sauce, and red snapper two ways coasted us 1890/-
