Having opened around 6 months ago, Royale Exotica is a stone’s throw away from the Calangute beach. Being located away from the noisy part of the beach, this beach hotel will ensure that you have a peaceful and enjoyable stay. The GM, Mr. Philip Almeida gave us a short tour of the hotel and also showed us one the sea facing rooms. The hotel has 21 rooms, a few of which offer a beautiful sea view and 2 restaurants, one on the ground floor and the other, a sky lounge. The sky lounge makes an excellent place for a romantic dinner date or a small party with friends and family. Do visit the property in the evening so that you catch the beautiful sunset whilst you enjoy with your loved ones! Coming to the food, well let’s start by saying there was a lot. From Indian to Continental to Chinese, they had it all.We started with the delicious Paneer Kathi Roll followed by Golden Fried Squids. Although the squids were perfectly cooked, they lacked some seasoning. Next were the 2 salads. The Caesar salad was a variation of the regular Caesar Salad with 3-4 grilled pieces of chicken and 4 slices of garlic bread as opposed to the regular croutons. Now the Grilled Prawns Salad was our favourite! Grilled prawns lightly dressed and placed on slices of yellow and green zucchini with a vegetable salad. Yum! The Pasta Alfredo was the regular penne pasta in white sauce, well cooked but again lacked some seasoning. The Chicken Breast Steak was also among our favorites.
