This is a great place for outdoor dining. But there’s no AC, so it can get uncomfortable on a hot humid day. The drinks are amazing. I ordered a drink called Cinderella which was tasty and refreshing as it was a hot day.
The restaurant serves good food but was costly compared to Fat Fish due to additional taxes. Even though situated at prime location, it was always empty which actually makes the waiters desperate. They will force you order more and even take mineral water when u don’t want. Our waiter went ahead to say that if you don’t take mineral water we will serve you unfiltered tap water.
Salt N Pepper is a small restaurant located near Baga beach. The ambiance is minimal, but the menu is expansive. We had come here to parcel food and move. Our order comprised of Pork chilly, Chicken chilly, Veg noodles and veg manchurian. We were told that the order will take 15 minutes to get ready, but it took almost 40 minutes which irked us.Finally the order arrived and we left.On having the food, we found the veg stuff to be quite decent while the pork chilly was amazing. But the star was chicken chilly which was impeccable and had hit the right notes for me.Taste 4Ambiance 3VFM 4.5Service 3Quality 4Must Try:Pork chilly, chicken chilly
Chanced upon this place while walking around in the Baga beach area. Was feeling hungry so decided to stop and have dinner here. It’s on the main road, popularly known as the road leading to the Titos Lane (that being the most popular hangout in this area). We started off with a bottle of Kingfisher beer and it was served appropriately cold. The ambiance is pretty decent with tables arranged for 4 and 6 customers however could see a few tables-for-2 as well, nice romantic dinner for two, perhaps? ;-)For food, we ordered a Butter Chicken with Tandoori Rotis. It took a while for them to serve our food, had to wait almost 30-40 mins for it. Not done man!!Also we had asked for a plain and a butter roti but he served two plain ones. When we pointed this out to the server, he simply said he’ll get that one coated with butter (is that the right thing to do, I wonder? – I hope not!!)Coming to the taste, the chicken tasted amazing. Loved the taste of the gravy with the flavors of cinnamon stronger than the rest. The meat too was cooked perfectly, soft and succulent pieces drenched in delicious gravy. And the roti size too was pretty large. We had planned to order 2+2 however after finishing one, our chicken and gravy were wiped clean and tummies full. One thing that wasn’t appreciated by us was the fact that they don’t serve water, we need to purchase it. And that too at Rs. 30 per liter. Loot macha rakhi hai!!
First of all if given a chance I won’t even give 1 star. We visited the restaurant on 4 April and believe me it changed the whole perception of food joints in Goa. I would strongly advice to refrain going to such pathetic place. The waiters are so rude to Indians as they feel it is for foreigners. They are least bothered because for these guys we (Indians ) are not their prime target. I ve never seen such a rude behaviour ever. also the food is pathetic. JUST DONT GO PLEASE !
Have been to this little restaurant, twice and have always been served well. The food arrives quickly and is quite delicious. During the last visit, we were craving some Indian food after having eaten pasta and sandwiches all day. We ordered the Butter Chicken which was mildly spicy, sweet and flavorful with tones of cinnamon overpowering the rest of the garam masalas. The butter naan was not like the ones we get in Delhi but I have no complaints. We also ordered the Pork Vindaloo and the Jeera Rice and my my! The gravy was like an explosion of flavors. The sweet, the sour, the spices – all perfectly amalgamating to form a rich base for the pork to absorb all the flavor from it. The next day I was in a hurry to reach the airport and got my breakfast parceled – Masala Omelettes, Butter Toast and Vegetable Toast. The food was fresh, well seasoned and the server packed it really well. I was so glad my last meal in Goa was wholesome and scrumptious.
