The spice it restaurant inside the Ibis Styles Calangute serves lip-smacking dishes. Their buffet menu has some traditional Goan dishes listed. Me and my friends were invited to try out the food and here is how it went. The lunch menu for us was prepared by Chef Mayank and his team. Kudos to the team. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant ambiance is wonderful and has a full bar counter at one corner. There was seating available near to the poolside as well. We started off with a fusion drink which was a mix of Kokum (Goan tropical fruit) and Cranberry. For starters, we had Poyi Pizza, Peri-Peri Prawns, and Chicken Cafreal. The Poyi Pizza is a vegetarian dish which is made of authentic Goan bread called Poyi, topped which vegetables and lot of cheese. This one is a must try dish. The Peri Peri prawns were a bit of spicy because of the Peri Peri sauce. It was served with spicy cabbage salad lemon. The Chicken Cafreal is like the tandoori chicken of Goa except the fact that this comes in green color. This dish literally made my mouth to water. To choose from 3 of the starters, I will go with the Chicken Cafreal. For the main course, we had King Fish curry, Chicken Maratta, Paneer Lababdar, Butter Roti and Rice. The King Fish curry and White Rice is a MUST TRY combo when you are in Goa. The Chicken Maratta is a traditional Maharashtrian dish but they have enhanced it with the puree made from Onion herbs and spices. And for the dessert, we had Goan Dodol with Ice Cream. Wow! this is a MUST try. This is a family recipe made using Rice, Coconut Milk, Jaggery, Crushed Almonds. This sweet dish has a texture like pudding and it melts in your mouth. Tried it with Ice Cream and it was delicious. Overall, it was a great time we had at the Spice It restaurant. Thanks to Chef Mayank and team for the delicious lunch treat. Their Goan special menu is a must try if you are on a local cuisine explore mode.

Excellent food. Good variety of breakfast. The executive chef comes and makes you feel very comfortable. My 4 year old son also enjoyed the food. The kaali daal and butter chicken were too good.

Decent sandwiches and wraps to offer. Also had their breakfast brunch which had a decent spread. The restaurant is certainly better than their accommodation. Average place to drop by if you’re in the vicinity and hungry.

Not recommended to visit at all. Bad food. Not up to standard at all. Bad slow service. So much fish available in goa n they use frozen basa. Will not be visiting ever again.

Spice is the all day dining restaurant of Ibis Styles. The eatery is powerful and a la mode with splendidly hued insides and decorations, intended to convey a grin to visitors. It’s a novel mix of Goan and world cuisine. During my stay I had breakfast & lunch at the restaurant. They serve longest breakfast in Goa i.e. from 7am to 12pm, with individually alternatives accessible for lunch and supper. The menu incorporates innovative dishes at its live cooking stations, and also energizing individually alternatives including North Indian, South Indian, worldwide and neighbourhood claims to fame. I really liked the Goan Prawn Curry and Panko Fried fish. If you have a thing for Biryani you can go for Mutton Biryani as well. crazemag.in
