Had Goan Thali and one of the best in Candolim for Goan prawn curry.Ordered a virgin mojito and it was great. Will recommend for Goan Fish Thali. The service is better.
Deciding for a good place for dinner in Candolim is like trying to choose between lot of good options. Candolim main road has some really good places and we wanted to have some really good food. After going through all the places at night while we were riding around, we finally decided to settle at Jambalaya! A well lit, english-goan style restaurant this place was quite full but looked very fresh and every table had candle lights. We settled on a table and the waiter was quite prompt to come and light the candle at our table. Crowd was quite nice. There was traditional bricks oven at one side and the other side had a live Tandoor corner. In the centre stood a Live music stage where a singer with his guitar just stepped in and started playing some nice peppy goan songs. The atmosphere was quite nice. We checked the menu and it had mixed varities ranging from Goan specialties, Tandoor Kebabs, Grilled stuff, north indian, Pizzas, etc. We ordered for a Reshmi Kebab and Indiana pizza with Old Monk to tag along. While there was some good music being played we grooved to it with our Old Monk and didn’t realize that it took a good 15 minutes for our order to arrive. But we got some Really Good Food. The Reshmi Kebab was such soft and perfectly marinated and cooked chicken kebabs. The green chutney along was really amazing. Nice Pudina flavor and slight tangy and spicy taste. We loved the kebabs. Not too oily/greasy but nicely cooked, melting soft kebabs.Rating – 5/5The Indiana pizza was a thin crust pizza baked in the traditional brick and mortar oven. This pizza had chicken tikka toppings. The pizza tasted really good. Cheesy, juicy, delicious soft tikka chunks on it. Less spicy and less salty made us add some oregano and chilli flakes which made it taste even more awesome. The thin crust was such crispy and well baked that it had a crisp crackle. This pizza had 7-8 pieces.Rating – 4.8/5After eating these 2 delicious dishes we still had some space in our tummy and wanted to end this dinner on a sweet note.We ordered for a brownie and ice-cream. Though I wanted to have a sizzling brownie but this place didn’t serve that I was a bit sad. But soon as our order arrived I was delighted. The brownie was warmed up and a dollop of vanilla ice-cream along with chocolate sauce dripped on it. My first bite of the brownie and I didn’t miss my sizzling brownie as the warm brownie with ice-cream and chocolate sauce tasted as heavenly as sizzling one. I devoured this final dish and enjoyed it thoroughly.Rating – 5/5Aaah!!! A perfect sumptuous, happy Dinner in Goa with some good Music, Good ambiance, Good people around and Perfect tasty Food. Loved it.A must must visit.
Another restaurant in Candolim with live music, excellent service and fantastic food. A very good place to spend a relaxing evening with some live music. Service is excellent even when the restaurant is crowded. The food is fantastic.Crostini al funghi : creamy mushrooms on toast, was delicious. Must try!!!
A very good place to spend a relaxing evening with some live music. Service was excellent. The food hit my table instantly even though the restaurant was crowded. The food was excellent. An excellent evening indeed.Started by ordering Prawns cocktail and Fish fingers which were both phenomenal.Crostini ai funghi is creamy mushrooms on toast which was absolutely heavenly. Must try. Thanks for recommending this to me.Bacon and honey wrapped king prawns was something I ordered undoubtedly. Loved the way honey binded these beautiful ingredients together. Supremely spot on.For mains we had Chicken A la king – chicken in a cheese and mushroom sauce, served with rice.It was a blissful pack of cheesy goodness.Cotoletta alla milanese is crumb fried chicken breast with fries and salad. Loved the crunch, wouldn’t mind going back for it at all.Ended the main by savouring the freshness of the ocean with every bite of Frutti di mare which had tomato, prawns, calamari, mussels and mozzarella. For desserts we settled for Brownie and Coconut Ice cream.

Jambalaya is another venue in Candolim, which is one of my favourite outlets in North Goa. We tried continental food in this restaurent and it was excellent. This is also a beautiful restaurent with a very nice ambience, live music, excellent service and fantastic food. If you are looking for a happening restaurent with some amazing live performance and fantastic food, then this restaurent will never disappoint you.
