This was the first shack I visited in South Goa and I expected it to be good. But it wasn’t. I ordered a couple of dishes: 1. Chicken tikka (tasted fairly good)2. Fish Tikka (was horrible. Don’t try it out. Try it at shacks in Anjuna)3. Spaghetti Bolognese (they used noodles instead of spaghetti.BIG DISAPPOINTMENT 4. Chicken Mushroom Stroganoff (surprisingly VERY TASTY)5. Mix Noodles 6. A lot of beer
Least attentive staff I have ever encountered in my life. Priorities are clearly around white skin and foreign currency. The view of the beach is totally obscured by rows of recliners and umbrellas. Definitely would not recommend. The only reason this isn’t 1 star is because the prawn crackers were good and were a generous portion.
Absolute discourteous. Very far away from the word Hospitality. We’re kept waiting for 30 minutes or so for the sun bathe bed, thereafter denied for no rhyme or reason. We were a group of 8, so a great billing was guaranteed, hopeless absolutely.
Very popular beach shack in Cavelossim due to its location which is right next to the beach entrance. Tried Onion Pakodas with Chilled Beer and Prawns Goan Curry here and it was good. In the evening, they set tables for candelight dinner and on one of the nights we were here, there was a special musical session arranged for the guests.
Visiting Goa during its ‘off season’ has its pros and cons.Cons* Very few shacksPros -* You have the whole place to yourself* awesome service* Food served with loveWe decided to explore Cavelossim Beach and zeroed in on Doms Shack to chill and watch the sunset.A quaint little set up at the beginning of the beach, cream picket fence and bamboo for walls, a nice place to sit back and relax. We ordered :Beef Chilly : Well marinated beef, onion, capsicum garnished with tomatoes, lemon & a bed of grated cabbageCrispy Chicken: semi dry spicy tangy pieces of chicken mixed in a sauce of tomato, garlic with onion & capsicum.Cheese Pakoda : Golden brown balls with a bit of cheese in every bite. The coating was a bit thick, but the cheese made up for it.Every Tuesday, Doms Shack has a lovely party for their customers. A beautiful candle lit set up, disco lights, foot tapping music and more.We coincidentally landed up at the shack on a Tuesday and got to experience the party first hand. We wondered who would show up on a Tuesday considering it being the off season, but Doms was packed! They also lit some fireworks ( We took videos! 😀 ) and gave everyone green flares to hold! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even partied with the crowd!A special shout out to Neves, Rodney, Krishna & Dom for the amazing time.Ambience – 4 / 5Food – 4 / 5Service – 4 / 5Value for money – 4 / 5
Went to doms in the afternoon for lunch We were famished after water sports at the cavelossim beach. Typical small shack with a great view of the ocean. We ordered onion pakodas (okay) a cheese beef burger, king grilled fish with Goan spices rubbed all over it for a sweet and spicy taste and because my wife was a vegetarian being a Thursday after much negotiation made them agree on a prawn Goan curry minus the prawns and instead of prawns had vegetables ..it was pretty good . The burger was okay. The fish was nice ..not bad food but nothing amazing
This is my favorite beach shack in Goa where I eat most of my meals on every trip. Great food, prompt service and friendly staff. Some personal favorite dishes here: fish curry rice, Dom’s special fried rice, masala kingfish, beer battered fish and chips, masala chicken and chicken stroganoff. Kudos to Dom, Vinnie, Ash and Rodney.
