  The Double Tree by Hilton, along the Kadamba Plateau just outside Panjim, has what is probably Goa’s only restaurant that aims to showcase Mangalorean food. Feliz is an outlet on the property that focuses on coastal cuisine, which highlights typically Mangalorean flavours, and a bit of Goan as well. Here, they make a mean version what is probably the flagship dish of the region: Ghee Roast Chicken. When in the area, it’s definitely worth checking in at the property for good food and an absolutely jaw-dropping view!

  AT Double tree by hilton hotels panaji, one can savour the finest gastronomical experience offered by Feliz restaurant. Its an open air restaurant with an outdoor seating arrangement overlooking the beautiful view of River Mandovi. Feliz restaurant specializes in authentic Mangalorean, Goan and coastal delicacies curated by the culinary genius, Chef Lawrence and his team. They have an eclectic range of quirky cocktails too, which are a must have. The prices are to the premium range with an excellent service and polite staff..The signature specialities by chef Lawrence is a delight to the palate starting with the yetti soup, which is Mangalorean styled prawn broth mixed with spices, which was really light and flavorful. Totally enjoyed the chicken ghee roast, a classic Mangalorean dish which was rich in flavour with chillies, spices and pure ghee. The Squid pepper fry was just so delicious with its spicy pepper masala and curry masala. Rawa fried prawns was really crispy and tasty..Neer dosa which is a Mangalorean delicacy made from rice batter was soft thin and lacy and complimented well with Nuggekayi Pulimunchi, which is drumsticks cooked in pulimunchi masala, a must have. The appam and Pomfret curry was a perfect combination. Pundi which is roasted semolina was also delicious.Coming to the dessert, my favorite was the Ragi mani, which is a traditional Mangalorean pudding prepared with ragi flour and jaggery with a thick jelly like consistency and soft in texture. Elaneer payasam was my second favorite and a total delight.The cocktails are just funky, totally enjoyed the gin and tonic with a twist of spices and dry chillies, a must haveA perfect place to have a fine dining experience

  A warm foyer and beautiful view of the mandovi waters greets you as you enter the coastal based Feliz. With plush multi-leveled seating, a chic cocktail bar at the far end and open skies you immediately feel comfortable. Himanshu at the bar concocted his twist on the classic gin & tonic, infused with a whole red chili, rosemary, thyme and pepper. Very refreshing. My stand out dishes of the night was the ghee roast, pundi (roasted and steamed semolina), Mangalorean pomfret curry and kori roti. All their desserts are a class of their own especially the elaneer payasam and halwa. Can’t wait to visit again! epicurade.com

  I can confidently say Feliz is the only restaurant in Goa that prides itself on serving authentic Mangalorean cuisine among other coastal flavours. The signature restaurant at Double Tree by Hilton Goa – Panaji, Feliz is an ideal location to enjoy a cocktail and take in the serene views of the Mandovi River. The must try from the menu is Chicken Kori Rotti and Ghee Roast. Don’t forget to ask for their bartender’s special cocktails of the day!
